Re: Zillion SV TW Problem... Solved???

"This has me furious that the new Zillion, not to mention all THREE previous generations along with my SS/SV and Tatula Type R are all smoother than my Steez A." The tatula type rs are in my opinion some of daiwas best work for a general reel. I find myself using the daiwa ctr more than my curado or...

Re: Certate LT?

I've used my certate 2004 (year 13) extensively for years in fresh water without the line roller and main shaft mag seal needing any type of servicing. Reel has been smooth as butter since day one and it seems to get better the more i use it. As soon as it needs servicing, when i hear any type of n...

Re: Braid to fluorocarbon

I have used (double) uni to uni variatios and also fg knot. Only difference is how hard or easy it's made a knot on waters. Naturally Uni can't be retrieved through guides because it won't go. But this is actually good. Because fg knot can go through guides, and when it is retrieved through, then i...

Favorite Ned combo is Fenwick Aces 70clp+j, 8lb FC Sniper, Shimano Conquest BFS w/ avail 29r spool. Go to ned head is BPS tungsten 3/64oz jig head. https://i.postimg.cc/MKkbXdss/CEFD85-F0-2308-4-DA4-9-C67-8338660-D3-B06.jpg Beautiful. Re: Ned Rig CASTING only

I knew there was a place for the likes of my kind. I could cast most medium sized nedrigs and even smaller ones. Sure I won't get as much distance as an ounce football jig but distance is an afterthought. I actually live in the Midwest. Most people I know use spinning gear. About every 30 people I r...

Re: Braid to fluorocarbon

I've got a video of a knot that I made. It's basically a gt knot the figure 8 to a clinch but instead of a clinch I wrap back up on the leader line an Alberto. That knot in terms of strength beats the FG half the time. The thing about the FG is how slim it is. It's long but slim. The improved gt kno...

Re: Braid to fluorocarbon

Old thread, I know. But these things are important. I am now using the red Phillips knot over the Alberto simply because it works. I will say that generally knots shaped like <===> are better casters than knots like this [===] but I've had no problem with the red Phillips at all. I use the FG knot t...

Re: Is there a braid better than Spiderwire Ultracast?

I love power pro, much better than spider wire in my opinion. Though everyone fishes just a little different so for the way I fish I prefer power pro and all there products. Usually, when I stray is when I get burnt. A few notable times: Daiwa x4 and x8 Any thing from sunline braid and FC rock. Seag...

Re: Is there that much "junk" line making it to shelves?

Poor knot selection or tying ability can also contribute a lot to unexpected breakages, and some lines are more susceptible to poor knots than others. I used to use exclusively mono (Maxima Chameleon), and almost exclusively the standard fisherman's knot. Once I started upgrading my own personal ge...

Re: NEED help choosing a new reel

Depends what you want out of it. There best all around reel for me has constantly been the curado series. Over the years I've never been disappointed in a curado. And I'm also pretty happy with the svs Infiniti breaks which makes adjustments on the fly so easy.

Re: Strike King Tour Grade Flouro

I'm in no way trying to offend you brother I just wanna have you experience fishing and have fun however that comes. Sunline has proven to be pretty good for me over all it's just expensive. I've never had a issue with knots so it could be possible you may have gotten packs that sucked. I've heard o...

Check reviews out in YouTube. I just saw something on how it don't hold a candle to sunline.
