Re: St. Croix Legend Xtreme 2020

Gonna be honest, I believe I posted previously in this thread with my satisfaction in these rods and it came from a place of ignorance. I was a big St Croix guy and had only really used St Croix rods, so when I got the 71MHF it was definitely the most sensitive rod I had owned. But here is the catch...

Re: Choose a rod brand

Well I’ve nearly done this with my current collection. I don’t mind buying and selling rods until I have exactly the ones I want. And I am now ALL Megabass except for a Steez AGS that I keep in my car, a Yamaga Blanks Ajing rod for panfish, and a St Croix mojo bass for sentimental reasons. Bronzefly...

Re: P5 Oneten Special User Experience

Not necessarily. On occasion I will fish with a bigger rod and adjust for casting or using a walk the dog type technique in the kayak. While the length is a difference that you notice right away of course, the action of the rods are very different. For me, the action of the rods is the bigger diffe...

Re: P5 Oneten Special User Experience

I have both the Oneten Stick and the Oneten Special. Both rods are fantastic. The Oneten Special is a 1/2 power higher, so think of it as a Medium+ as opposed to the Medium of the Oneten Stick. Both of them are fantastic w/jerkbaits and treble hooked lures (cranks, topwater). The biggest difference...

Re: P5 Oneten Special User Experience

Anyone tried Z-crank 1 and 2 sized baits on the last gen or new gen? Trying to figure out if it can pull double duty for light cranks as well as the smaller jerk baits.

P5 Oneten Special User Experience

So I’ve seen the Oneten Special out in the wild and know some folks have had the chance to try it out. How does the new Oneten Special work out? Is it that different than the Oneten Stick? On an aside, I am looking into this to figure out which multipurpose light moving bait rod I want to keep for t...

Re: 2021 Legend Extreme, stalling out ?

I’ve got one and 90% of my lineup is high end St Croix. I am of mixed minds with this series, and ultimately I prefer the Legend X series over everything. I prefer the reel seat and handle on the Xtreme, as well as the paint job. I like the guides better on the legend X. But here is the kicker, as t...

Re: St. Croix Legend Xtreme 2020

Haven’t been following to closely, so is the 74heavy the same blank as in the past....As on the elites and Legend x? Thanks Yes but it’s a hair softer. All of the Xtreme rods for whatever reason seem a bit softer than their X/Elite counterparts. I tested the same models side by side and found this ...

My new Daiwa Exist 1000 has the on/off switch.
The current generation exist? I just looked at pics on the website and it doesn’t look like it has one on there.

Re: Spinning Reel with AntiReverse Switch

What's wrong with made in china? I have quite a few reels made in china and they have been great. No issues with them at all. It’s a choice political in nature, so I just left it at “not made in China” so as not to bring political conversation into a fishing forum. I’ve bought Chinese made rods and...

Spinning Reel with AntiReverse Switch

Since Shimano discontinued their anti-reverse switch on their spinning reels, I was wondering if there was a spinning reel preferably made in Japan that still has them. I am aware that the Tatula still has them but I’m trying to not buy anything made in China (which is a gigantic pain). I am looking...

Re: SCroix 68MXF vs 610MXF Spinning

Ok so I found a place that was a 2 hour drive away but had both the 6’8 and 6’10 MXF legend spinning rods available to try. They were both the Legend Elite series. In the LE series, the handle on the 6’8” is 1” shorter so actual blank length above the handle is only 1” different. In the X, their web...
