Re: Jackal T connection Rods
I have Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 2500 on mine, I prefer larger reels and nowadays when targeting larger fish also rods with a bit more power.

Re: Jackal T connection Rods
I bought the TS-S65L model 2 months ago and Im in love with it.The action is sharp and on the fast side in the tip but still enough give in the back. Works great for twitching and also lighter jerkbaits up to 6-7g. I would personally prefer a bit larger guides because I also fish for trout in sub fr...

Re: Braid to fluorocarbon
OK, that's possible. Maybe I still must try long leader with fg knot. Maybe long leader can improve my seatrout catches :) (Currently I have 2 foot FC leaders in use). Ive never had problems with FG knot weakening trough a whole day of seatrout fishing with a million casts, I run my FG knot to betw...

As long as you are having fun with it and any excuse to buy more shiny gear is always good.Hobie-Wan Kenobi wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 9:34 amI am not saying BFS is way better than spinning. Just listing some pros to it.

Re: Casting Distance: Ideal BFS Rod characteristics?
I'm told that BFS gives better casting accuracy and feels more 'connected' to the fish whatever that means. Whoever told you that is overhyping his preferences in fiddling around with his gear. With proper technique you can cast just as accurately with fixed spool AND cast more distance with lighte...

Re: Favorite 15-20lb braid main line for spinning reels?
Either they have bumped every size up a notch in EU or there is some sort of mixup between PE ratings, pound ratings and mm diameter ratings. The 0,08 mm morethan is visually way smaller then the 0,12mm morethan. I have also noticed this with Berkley line numerations/classifications, the mm rating i...

Re: Kuying Freestyle Walker UL
I actually got mine. Quick summary: a) packs down to impressively small size, the included bag feels very high quality but Id still use a hard carrying tube when trekking b) quality is excellent - the finish was impeccable on mine and everything was STRAIGHT c) The tip is very fast, too fast for my ...

Re: Recommend a spinning rig for UL trout....under $180?
Tsurinoya ELF Trout is an excellent cheap aliexpress spinning rod for UL - gram test from 1-5 is accurate, tubular tip, very sturdy blank - i put mine trough lot of abuse and I think the x-wrap is not only a marketing slogan. The sensitivity is also excellent, I can feel fingerling trout pecking at ...

Re: Stradic CI4+ on clearnce...new model coming?
absolutely itching for that VFC2000HGF model for my ultralight trout setup. As far as I can understand it has a 1000 size body but 2000 size spool/rotor improving line management while keeping weight down. I guess the release was postphoned, preliminary info was all about august release.

Re: Kuying Freestyle Walker UL
I decided to order one, hopefully the guides and the tip will be straight this time. The Teton has a noticeably bent tip and misaligned guides which are pretty much just cosmetic but aggravating as all hell. Will report in when and if I recieve it.
