Re: 2021 Daiwa Zillion SV TW
Thank you for the responses! I already have a couple 2020 Metaniums, Chronarchs, Curados and Scorpions. Never owned a Daiwa but I think I'm going to purchase it! I might just spool with Flurocarbon! I fish a clear reservoir up here in the Northeast so if I use braid I generally go with a longer lead...

2021 Daiwa Zillion SV TW
I'm looking for any feedback on the 2021 Zillion. I'm interested in purchasing this reel and pairing it with an NRX MBR 844C. There seems to be a consensus that these Daiwa reels don't handle leader to braid very well. I would be using 30 lb braid with a 15 lb flurocarbon leader. I tie an FG knot. I...

Re: In search for a light popper and small crank rod
I concur with MRPao! Expride loads up nicely! I've used it quite a bit for poppers and walking baits and it keeps a high percentage of the fish pinned. I've also use frequently for 3/8 oz 1.5 cranks and it does a nice job of keeping fish pinned!

Re: Please Help
JLN is a reputable vender! I ordered a 2020 Metanium MGL about a year ago. When I received the reel there was something wrong with it! I sent the reel back. JLN sent me a brand new Metanium as a replacement! About two weeks after receiving the new reel JLN sent me an email notifying me that the defe...

2021 Megabass Levante Diablo Spec R
Just purchased a new 2021 Megabass Levante Spec R off the rack! I've read that it's a versatile rod. The rod feels very light and crisp but I've yet to fish with it. Has anyone had any experience with this rod? What are your thoughts on this rod? Thanks in advance!

Re: 2020 JDM Metanium performance
Thanks to all who responded! I found the issue! Two of the brake pins were stuck! when I freed them it was like a new reel. It casts like a charm now!

Re: 2020 JDM Metanium performance
Yes! They move freely! But I agree. Something is sticking in there! I'm probably going to bring it someplace to be serviced. These kinds of issues shouldn't occur on brand new reels!

Re: 2020 JDM Metanium performance
Ok thanks for responding! This is baffling to me! I don't feel real comfortable taking a brand new reel apart. I live in Massachusetts! Is there anyone in this general area who works on Shimano reels? I purchased it from Japan Lure shop. This is actually my second Metanium reel. I returned the first...

Re: 2020 JDM Metanium performance
Thank you SSS for responding! Yes, there is plenty of side to side movement when the cast control knob is loosened! On a brake setting of one the lure falls very quickly and I can bomb cast it! On a number two it falls slowly. Three; it barely moves! How do I go about flushing out the gears? Is ther...

2020 JDM Metanium performance
Just a few questions on new 2020 JDM Metanium after unboxing. The spool was very tight when turning the handle. When spinning the handle the spool would only rotate a couple times. I have the spool tension set loose! I set the internal brakes to two off! When I set the external brakes to a number on...

Re: Reviews medium powered rods
Thanks Cal! I did read the review on the Ark medium heavy. Seems like an impressive rod. I do have the Kistler Helium 7'6 medium heavy! I'm not discounting the NRX 852C but it's soo expensive. I've heard good things about the GLX version as well at a cheaper price point!

Reviews medium powered rods
I'm looking for TT real time reviews on some medium powered casting rods. There is abundant information here on GLoomis NRX,GLX 852C and the medium MBRs as well. There are also a lot of Kistler and Dobyns reviews (example: Champion Extreme 742C S/H). However, there aren't a ton of reviews on some of...
