Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance
FYI all the parts diagrams and parts number are available on the shimano jp website instead of having to wait for plat etc which sometimes doesn’t have new models or has shimano parts numbers straight up wrong sometimes, you can translate the entire page while using it with safari and chrome https:/...

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance
As far as the earlier post, are they saying the higher end Shimano spinners have aluminum gears but they have a special coating? Or do they all interchange because they are the same? The parts are very likely the same. The design for all these reels is the same, using the same A/R clutch and line r...

Re: SV Boost in older Daiwa reels?
Why would you need stronger magnets? If the spool works in a reel with stronger braking force, it will work on the steez103, its just gonna be faster inside a steez than something like the tdz. Pretty sure it’s the same reason why the zpi nrc001 spools didn’t play well with the older daiwas. Too li...

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance
Simano has a design system. In comparison, Daiwa spinning reels seem like an afterthought. It's the lower-grade reels where Shimano smooth can't compete long-term with Daiwa toughness. Daiwa's line rollers are also better. As much as I love Daiwa (been fishing them mainly for the past like 8 years ...

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance
Also if anyone knows, does the Stradic and new Twin Power use the same gears? They do not, nor did anyone really expect them to share gears tbh. Frames too different and the models themselves are in 2 very different price ranges. Twin power is a certate competitor I would think the same, but to me,...

Re: That DC whine
Weird. I thought it always sounded like a variable frequency drive when braking an AC 3 phase 480v motor. Makes the same high pitched whine. Scorpion DC/DC7 was programmed silent from factory. This is the reel reprogrammed to make the standard dc whine we all know https://youtu.be/6S76yboSxQs?si=Z0...

Re: That DC whine
Fun fact the whine isn’t inherent to the dc system and can be programmed in/out or even programmed to sound like something else. A guy in japan who was savvy with programming microcontrollers made his scorpion dc7 which was the only dc reel to come silent from the factory sound like a certain japane...

Re: New Certate question.
Only differences will be the gear ratios/spool depth variations offered which will be obvious by model name.Big-Donkey wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 1:30 pmIm looking at both the US and JDM Certate. Any differences a person should be concerned with? Thanks.

Welp i lucked out and found a guy in japan selling a reprogrammed dc unit. So now I got what I always wanted an E framed DC that’s no longer choked for distance and now makes the dc hum we all know and love

Re: Salt Signs
I was talking about you being curious enough to try the MC Squared double bearings. I know how much the IXAs cost, the double bearings made by MC squared were a custom production to be dimensionally correct at 3x10x4 or 5x11x4 so a set of 2 bearings was like $80 https://www.anglerscentral.my/cdn/sho...

Re: Salt Signs
@Jeff - thanks for posting. IXA doubles have gone 3 years with the fish I posted above as a small slice - no problems, and they could keep spinning (twice). Again, the bearing rust example I used in OP was a cheap knock-off of the IXA double that came with AMO BFs spool. Roro Air BFS on my Steez we...
