Re: Ryoga 1016H (Black) gear set
Just an fyi, the Daiwa 21 Basara (non IC) model gears fit the 1016 black Ryoga. They are identical except they are the digigear instead of the mesh gears. Installed and running in one of my 1016’s and have 3 more sets on the way. I’ve yet to discover any gear sets that will fit the 1520’s though. Th...

Re: WHY are there no short enthusiast pitching sticks?!?!
The Daiwa black label sg 6’3 heavy is your rod. It’s rated up to 4oz but the most I’d use with this rod is 1.5oz. JDM rods are always overrated for their style of short pitching instead of bombing baits like in the states. It’s a 2 piece rod but don’t let that turn you away, I’ve caught a 15lb strip...

Re: Ryoga 1016H (Black) gear set
I could have just ordered the original set but want to try the digigears in the Ryoga. If they don’t work I’ll just order the original set. Wish I could find a 7 something gear ratio digigear set.

Re: Ryoga 1016H (Black) gear set
Since Plat has opened up the option of ordering gears for magsealed reels, I’ve ordered the gear set from a 21 Basara to try. Should be the same since they use the same gear shaft and based off the same frame.

Daiwa’s Black Label LG. I have the 6’3 ML just for 1/4oz Z1’s and Z2’s. They also have a 7’3 ML. Love mine.

Re: Alphas CT SV 70 - Finesse Cranking
I worry the same about having a 7.2 Millionaire CT (no gear replacement). I agree with everything about the light casting abilities, a ML rod with 8lb fluoro lets mine shine. I use it for lighter techniques and keep a looser drag, so hopefully the gears will survive a while in that aluminum frame.....

Re: Fuji TCH reel seat
Extremely rigid seat unlike the nylon seats of the past like ECS and ACS, bueatiful, lightweight, and more comfortable to my style than the ECS/ACS. If you like Daiwa’s Air seats you’ll like the TCH. I’ve only seen a few rods made with this brand new seat. Only place I could find one to buy was over...

Re: Daiwa Black Label
Own the 6’3 SG swimbait rod, the 7’ SG swimbait rod, the 5’5 SG jerk bait rod, the 6’11 LG swimbait rod, and the 7’ XXH swimbait rod from the previous generation. If it has Black Label on it, you can guarantee the rods are good. I’d own all of them if I had the time to fish them all

Fuji TCH reel seat
Anyone on here used the Fuji TCH reel seats? Looks like there isn’t much info on them other than Japanese sites but had a previous generation JDM Black Label 7’ 1-8oz swimbait rod that had foam handle and a reel seat I absolutely hated. It was before they came out with the Daiwa Air Sensor reel seat...

Looks like a lot of people on here voting for the domestic rod companies have never fished JDM rods.

I’m not sure if it is a good or bad thing, but I don’t like anything Magseal as of right now. How do you guy maintenance Magseal bearing? Another difference from zillion is braid ready worm gear. On the other hand I don’t have problem bombcast Fatika or switch to 1/16-1/8oz roadrunner with Ray’s Sp...

Re: Conquest BFS 2023
I’ve had every Conquest model including the last BFS and the only one still standing is my Conquest 50. That one along with the Abu 6500C that I bought on 1977 as a 17 year old with my high school graduation money is on the very short “never sell” list. That said I have a great affection for my JDM...
