And this skinhead says very well done again sir!!! That big carp, and now a pike in the twenties, on the light gear.
Certainly getting your time and money's worth there. I salute you!!

Re: Large Mouth Bass
Lake Naivasha, Kenya, has a good fishery for largemouth bass as well. In addition, the bass have spread and been transplanted/stocked in a few dams in and around Nairobi.

Re: real-life dragon of the deep
Fantastic sight. If you read the article properly they did try to release it, but it stayed up and beached itself again. The other fish also died. I guess that pair came up to die? Plus the change from deep dark, high pressure water (cold), to warmer surface water may well have damaged them lethally.

Re: Let's order the new Luvias
No, I think what he means is a spool and bail roller. The R+ spool has a different taper, as does the roller. Swap these out, and basically you have an R tuned setup. Now, stick a regular depth 1500 spool on (the RCS colours are nice, if only..), put a cork knob on the handle, and repaint it in blac...

Re: Mitchell UL reel?
Quite right you are Papa. Gekkabijin then maybe? Tell the truth, something fairly high end, ultralight/light, wearing the little black dress and gold trims IS pretty rare when you think about it. Maybe have to get something stripped down and custom painted. I know I've considered that option many a ...

Re: Light weight/high line capacity spinning reel
12oz in a spinning reels is saltwater size. There's nothing wrong with the lighter reels. Stated capacity is with mono line, and the lighter reels are still capable of high drag settings and good performance. You'll be able to step up capacity and breaking strain by using braided line. It'll increas...

Re: Casting Distance (reels, methods, and conditions)
Yes, but the energy stored will not be the same. The faster action rods used competitively recover faster, and transfer the energy quickly and effectively to the weight. The faster whipping action of the cast causes more moderate actioned rods to oscillate excessively after release. I'm sure you'll ...

Re: caught without my "A-Game" - today's adventure
Oh man, good story. Bad luck there mate. The "A" in A-game probably means active, adjust, adapt. On such light gear (which I fish almost exclusively, fresh and salt), fighting big fish from a standstill I think is where you made your second mistake. Your first was not having your drag properly set, ...

OMG!!!! Yeah, the new Luvias is VERY sexy. ZAION carbon material? The new graphite maybe. It will be interesting to see how if performs, and what price range it will be offered in.
