Looking at the 2 reels side by side the other day at BPS, it appeared that the Premier spool was narrower than the STX. It appeared to be quite noticeable. Are my eyes getting bad, or is that the case? Is it possible the Premier spool is narrower, and still fits? The color can make it look diff bel...

i never had that prob before and some of my plastics stay in the sun for a few days i use Zoom and Manns mostly without any problems they usally get tore up anyhow after a few fish

All i know is a shimano sidestab puts line on the spool better then a sahara !!

Thanks for all the info. I may give the scorpions a try, but really like the round reels for crankbaits. Actaully it dont matter what line you use take mono for example 10 pound line vs 15 ya its heavier per inch but bigger line also has more voids (airspace) in it on a spool and add this with how much less line u can get on a spoool compared to smaller stuff i think its actaully lighter after the fact

There´s not a single baitcaster in the market today regardless on how sophisticated the braking system is that I can´t backlash thoroughly and completely all the way down to the core of the spool if I do something stoopid. Did it this weekend with an Antares DC. :P Just one little tap and anything ...

I take my brakes off of my pins in my round reels and adjust my knob accordingly to the weight of my lure .i think ppl get confused with centrifical braking and centrifical force the braking is what slows it down the FORCE is controlled by how much u loosen or tighten the control knob>start up force...
