Thought I would give this a bump. Is anyone using a protective coating on their reels or rods? If so what and how does it perform? Wax on the blank and reel seat and Cork Sealer U-40 on cork handle. For the reels a thing coat of oil applied with a gun cleaning patch every time I re-oil the bearings.

My only experience with LC swimbaits was with the Real California 130 Premium. I though the action was terrible and broke 2 fins the 3rd time I used it.

I have the Powell H and the Okuma 7.6 MH, both great rods and under
$ 200.00, I like it better than the Crucials and the are lighter. Okuma has a superb warranty.
