Re: Broken Daiwa LT Flippin stick
I can't really say for sure, but I bet you will get a lesser replacement fee. Send it in, explain what happened, and ask if there is a production date on the rod to help plea your case. Good luck. Oh, and if you bought it on a credit card, you can check the store. Sometimes they will keep a copy of ...

Re: Any problems with the Pflueger President Casting reel
Thanks for the replies. I decided to pass only because I can't get used to messing with internal brakes. Otherwise, I must agree that it has the smoothest retrieve I have ever felt.

Re: new or old Stella?
The big problem with spinning reels used to be line management until Shimano redid their high end. If you are going to go high end, you would be selling yourself short by going with the old model. When one can afford to spend over 200.00 for a reel, one shouldn't sell themselves short. Go for the gu...

Any problems with the Pflueger President Casting reel
I'm considering buying my pal's President, but he has hardly fished it. Can anyone comment on the durrability of this reel?

Re: Quick braid question.
I have fished both pp and fireline, and I like how fireline "molds" to the spool. Fireline gets my vote.

Why don't you try out the new Shimano Core for me. I bet it would be a sweet combo.

Re: Spinning reel spool oscillation/level wind mechanisms.
worm gears lay lines best on spinning spools; especially when it comes to preventing line from digging in. It also helps to remove a spool washer (when possible) to have the line lay more toward the top of the spool. The new Shimano Stradic FI has the best worm gear I have ever had the pleasure of u...

Thanks bantam. I'm also hoping to trade some Daiwas for Shimanos. You guys have the smoothest casters out there. Thanks for superior service/ products.

high cost of tackle and the falling dollar?
I was just wondering if the extreme high price of tackle is due to the falling dollar. After all, imports like the Shimano Curado have gone from 119.00 to nearly 200.00. Swimbaits go for up to 150.00 dollars. These tackle companies are either making a 500% profit, or our dollar just doesn't compare....

Re: LC Bevy Shad 100 Thoughts?
IMHO I can't say that the Bevy is worth two or three times the money as the new deeper running XRaps. I'd definately go with the Rapala.

I find the TDX to be far superior to any other reel I own for casting light baits (especially pitching).

shimano castaic or curado in sub freezing weather?
I have had Daiwas sieze up in wet, icy weather. How do the castaics or curados perform in these conditions? Do they ever seize up? If not, what makes them perform better in cold conditions as opposed to other brands? I'm thinkin' of get a castaic.
