Re: fluorocarbon line shootout

I would to see break strength tests with different terminal knots. Like the palomar and san deigo jam knot i was thinking about this the other day, and can't remember the last time i have broke off. it used to happen a lot, but i started inserting the tungsten i use, plus started using what i think...

Re: Store brand rods and reels

i pretty much stick to name brand rods (mostly daiwa), but with reels i use bps exclusively. years ago i was all daiwa & shimano, but i bought 1 of the old gold carbonlites when they were new, and actually preferred it to the og steez. don't get me wrong, the steez was a very comfortable reel to fis...

Re: USDM Black Labels

i was hoping for some kind of steez rod surprise but no dice. it probably makes sense though, i started a whats next for daiwa thread in the rods section, and half the replies were about reels :laugh1:

Re: another "what's next for daiwa?" thread

I see that Daiwa Australia has started to import some of the newer Steez compile x line ... maybe USA will do the same like the Strike Force and the long awaited Harrier Finesse to mate up with the New Steez CT SV. i've seen some listings on ebay from them. i got a used ags 7'1 mh, and i don't real...

Re: Favorite Spinnerbait

has anyone tried the z-man sb? they have me wondering about them. i called their cs the other day to check on blade size and was told they have a finesse version coming out this summer in 1/4 & 3/8. i'll probably wait on those before i purchase

Re: Fuji PULS Palm Support Reel Seat

Re: rewrapping older rods with smaller/lighter guides?

thanks for all the replies. i am worried about changing 1 of the rods. it's a 6'9 daiwa ballistic rod that was supposed to be a mh worm/jig rod, but it's way too underpowered and has too much bend. it's more like a m+ power and actually bends deeper in the blank than most of the crankbait rods i hav...

rewrapping older rods with smaller/lighter guides?

how much would rewrapping an older rod with smaller lighter guides affect taper & possibly sensitivity? i have a few daiwa rods that i love the seats on, but i can barely get a rod sock over the guides!! i don't really want to affect the taper of the rod much though

Re: another "what's next for daiwa?" thread

i've been looking for a steez xt 7'mh for a while now unsucessfully. i've now started to think i may just have to bite the bullet and go with an ags, but they are getting a bit more rare on the bay. so i'm wondering are the steez rods maybe getting phased out? i know the xt's have been discontinued...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

i have been very lucky with the steez rods. the only one that i've had that i didnt really care for is the 7'2 mh flexlite. it's a bit tip heavy, and not as parabolic as i would like. i've had the 7' mh svf, 7'1 h harrier, 7' m flexlite, now i have the 7'1 h & 7'4 xh xt's. i would really like to fin...

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

i'm not generally 1 to complain about pricing, you either will spend whatever or you won't, but this seems a tad bit extreme to me.
