Title pretty much says it all, I am looking for the bearing to replace the plastic bushing. What size is it? If someone has one they want to sell send me a pm. Ordering parts from Daiwa takes to long to get and I already have reel torn down.
Thanks,
Kevin

+1 When doing that upgrade you need a bearing and new spacer or you can modify your existing one with a little sanding.D.R. wrote:Did you put the spacer on the worm drive first and then the bearing?

Re: daiwa rods
I have 10 daiwa rods and love them all. 8 light and toughs, 1 td s and a cielo. Never have broke one. the rods are a great value for the price. The MH (4 power) are very versatile rods able to handle many differant baits. I would give the 6' 6" light and tough a try and you will fall in love. Just m...

Re: Who has bigger gears?
I no the gears in the zillion are huge, a much larger diameter then 6.3's as I found out when trying to stuff them into a fuego!!

Re: Which braid for frogs?
50lb power pro is what I always use. Cuts off the weeds to help keep the fish coming to the boat.

Re: plastic frogs
That may be very true, since i started using the zoom hook I have only used a horny toad on it. My bad for not thinking through that point

Re: plastic frogs
From my experiance the spring on the owner hook is just too small and rips out very easily. The spring on the zoom hook is much larger and holds onto the nose for a long time. With the zoom hook I can fish it till the legs are gone, were with the owner hook sometimes the nose would blow out even whe...

Re: plastic frogs
Just remembered another thing I do when rigging a horny toad is to rig it upside down. I put the hook in through the top if it so the point rests in the slot in the frogs body. This way there is no plastic for the hook to penetrate first upon hook set.

Re: plastic frogs
I have had great success fishing plastic frogs the last few years. I get much better hook up rates with them than I do the air filled frogs and mice. I personally like the zoom horny toad the best due to its extra weight. This allows me to throw it real far on baitcasting equipment. If you don't nee...

Re: NEW Daiwa Alphas
If you go to plats web site and click to enlarge the photo of the new alphas you can clearly read that it says 150H. That would lead me to conclude that it really is a 150 sized reel like the advantage.

Re: NEW Daiwa Alphas
I think it looks pretty good. I have been using a zillion for throwing 6 inch swim baits but this reel looks like it might replace it. Same line capacity and a bit lighter with much better looks.

Re: Alphas F drag
Thanks for the info guys. I was not sure if the drag should be dry or not. For now I am going to open it back up and clean with acetone and then try it again. I guess if I had opened up another daiwa reel I would of found that the drag should be dry.
thanks again,
Kevin

Alphas F drag
I have a couple of alphas F and on one of them the drag is not working. No matter what I do it seems that you can always easily pull the line off the spool by hand. I have taken the reel apart and looked at the drag washers, nothing seemed wrong. they weren't dry and they weren't extra greasy. I jus...
