Re: 21 Zillion TW - larger capacity spool suggestions?
yeah I moved some spools around last night, have a few PG's and a few NRC's, a SLC Deep, and in once case an R+. I have two RCS 1016's but they are in two good setups, TDZ 100ML's with spacers and 7.1 gear upgrades for my SwimBait and SwimJig setups. But I could pull them and go with R+'s in those p...

Re: 21 Zillion TW - larger capacity spool suggestions?
Liking the 21 Zillion, but in some cases I am finding the Boost Spool lacking for line capacity, ie for larger braid or or fluro. Heck I just about emptied the spool on a cast to clear up some loose braid loops the other day :(. Assuming the common Daiwa 34mm variants, ie Steez 100H, TD-Z V-spool, ...

Re: ZPI Spool / Inductor rub
Yours shouldn't be rubbing on any of the tdz. Shouldn't rub on the old steez (pre TW) neither. If it does, you might be missing a shim under the bearing on the palming side plate. I believe this is the issue - the bearing had been replaced by a previous user. I have fiddled with the brake side and ...

ZPI Spool / Inductor rub
So, I have an older ZPI RC series 34mm Spool for Diawa, and I've noticed the inductor rubs on pretty much any reel I tried it in, ie several TD-Z and Steez variants. I also have an older Diawa/RCS Spool that does the same. Then I ran across the below statement on a JDM auction listing... It can be i...

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s
Is there a real difference between the old and new Steez A ? Something about the new Steez makes me want like it more than the previous version but I can’t say what it is exactly Something Tim mentioned about Shimano vs Daiwa breaking that I can’t remember verbatim but experience recently when cast...

PE line for dummies...
Searched back on this, but mostly found thread comparing different PE lines or PE to PE diameter, etc Recently purchased a reel that is PE line rated (Morethan) and the line capacity is confusing... It's rated for PE#1.5(US PE20lb, JP PE30lb)-200m, 0.21mm(US4lb, JP6lb)-200m(220yds) I'm trying to spo...

Which Handle collar for TD-Z Swept Handle conversion?
Tried to search for this but having trouble finding it - For converting the TD-Z and it's variants to a swept handle, do you use the thin (PX Type R) or thick (Steez) handle collar? I want to say the thick one, but wanted to confirm. thanks.

Re: Steez A with TD-Z 103 spool
Well I rolled with the Zillion G1 SV spool today, it was like throwing through molasses lol. I guess I am used to R/R+ spools/tuning, so that SV spool really limits casting in the Steez A. Had to basically drop the dial to 0 to get any sort of decent casting distance, and the spool could get a bit f...

Re: Steez A with TD-Z 103 spool
I put the RC001 spool in, and it drags a bit...ie when you reel the handle you can hear/feel the side of the spool dragging on the sideplate. Brakes are set to 0, so not sure if just a tolerance issue, as it should fit with no issues. Anyway, I also have some TD-Z Type R and R+ spools, and several Z...

Steez A with TD-Z 103 spool
I don't know if it's me, but this combo is a nightmare to use for some reason. Have it setup with 40lb braid for a swim jig rig in the grass, and I've backlashed it to the point of cutting out line the last three times on the water :(. Now, I am no pro, but I don't backlash reels very often, so I as...

Re: Daiwa 36mm INTO 34mm spool spacers.
Trying to convert my IP to fit 34mm spool. Are these still around anywhere? Does anyone here fabricate them? I've been looking for some for the longest. Help a brother out! Thanks! TackleTrap normally has them, but appears to be OOS at the moment. Give them a call they can probably tell you when th...

Re: What is the smoothest stock Daiwa reel you've ever used?
Stock another vote for the J-Dream. a tad heavy and 36mm spool (plus JDM limited release) keeps more people from enjoying this reel. Tuned, I'd put the various TD-Z's up against pretty much anything though. Same profile, magnesium so lighter, 34mm so many, many spool options and you can make it do a...
