Re: NEW Daiwa T3 info !!!

In my experience Thailand made reels are unsatisfactory in terms of finish, function and durability. Particularly the materials and aluminum of gears etc. are of inappropriate quality. If I can gain 5,3 performance (over what) from a reel made in Thailand, I'd rather pass the chance. I simply don't ...

Re: Megabass LIN 10 Update

Sick looking reel, and that red thumbbar is soooo cool. It obviously resembles the Ambassadeur 4600C/ 5600C/ 6600C series from the late 1970s. Definitely one of the coolest reels around. How's the performance of the reel? Based on previous experience Megabass branded reels, I'm a little worried that...

Talk about a really crappy name for a product, if it's intended for an english speaking market.

Re: where can i purchase a td-z?

also what (if any) is the relation between the usdm zillion and the td-z? they're both Daiwa reels ... ;) If there are any remaining TD-Z 103P reels, availability will be hit and miss because these reels are now out of production. The TD-Z line has been replaced by the Steez The TD-X line has been ...

Re: Zillion Hyper Long Cast...

Regardless i will end up with one eventually, love the look of the reel and it will be a perfect reel to compliment my Steez...probably swap out the stock straight handle to the offset i'ze one, not sure why they haven't spec'd the reel like that anyway not so fast... here's a side view of the Zill...

Re: Zillion Hyper Long Cast...

The price of 33,000 (/38,000) Yen in the link reflects the japanese price of the STANDARD Zillion. Obviously the seller has misunderstanded something, you will never get the HLC for 33,000. Within half a year from introduction you can find any reel 20-30% off at the japanese Yahoo auction site; http...

Me neither, at least when it comes to "low-tech expensive-material" products from ZPI".

Emptying the spool

OK, the vid here, www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHx5stX5Lzk doesn't show much, other than how to empty the spool on a DC reel. Just set the brake at "min" and castaway :-)

Will try to have a buddy film it next time (close up), so the sound will be more noticable, at least!

Re: antares AR or conquest 51?????

Definitely Antares AR. 3 reasons,

- The Design is a masterpiece (not a single visible screw e.g.)
- Mechanical performance is state-of-the-art
- It holds more/ heavier line than the Conquest, and still casts noticably
better with light lures.

Re: Any Garcia experts around??

Thanks for the info, cocacolalight! Man, that red reel looks awesome for something made in 1969! You welcome, and FYI it's basically identical to the 1952 first Ambassadeur 5000 (Record SG) so it is by the longest living design of a fishing reel. The particular concept lived on to 1980 for the Amba...

Re: Any Garcia experts around??

Got the numbers of the reel foot. The black one is checkered, and the number is 750103. I am guessing that means January 3rd, 1975?? The red reel is smooth on the bottom of the reel foot, and the number is 824143. Does this mean Jan 3rd, 1982? 750103 = 1975 - January - fourth version 824143 = it's ...

Re: Any Garcia experts around??

Mark, Reel old geezer is the expert and could tell you everything you would want to know about those. They both look to be early 70's. I have a black 5000C just like yours except it has a different power handle on it. The number on the bottom of the reel foot will probably be something like this an...
