Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's

I don’t have a newer Alphas to compare, but I love the little Tatula reels. They are little tanks, smooth as can be, and with a lighter spool are perfect reels for casting and pitching little tubes and jigs in New River.

Re: 2017 Tatula Elite Versus 2023 Version

Then 2023 Elite is slightly lighter in weight than the Sensor, just over 3 grams, but the action is heavier even though they are both 7 foot MMH rods.

I think you will like it and you can basically buy 2 of them for 1 Sensor.

Re: 2017 Tatula Elite Versus 2023 Version

I know this may go against normal convention, but because the 2023 Elite I am talking about balances better, I actually find it to feel as sensitive as either of the three 2021 Steez rods I own. That is not to say the Steez rods are not great because they are. The Tatula Elite Power Finesse is great...

Re: 2017 Tatula Elite Versus 2023 Version

Gary The balance of the 2023 version of this rod with a Tatula 80 on it is fantastic. I find myself liking it more and more every time I fish it. Yesterday I fished an hour or so after work and had went 6 for 6 on tube hits with it. Heck I think I actually like it better than either of the three 202...

2017 Tatula Elite Versus 2023 Version

I recently acquired a 2023 version of the Tatula Elite Power Finesse 7-0 foot MMH rod designed by Brent Ehrler. I have two copies of the OG version of this rod and they have been a staple in my rod lineup since I acquired the first one of these in Feb 2017. Over the years I have caught hundreds of s...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

I recently acquired a SDS Custom spool for the Tatula 80. I love the little 80 and 70 models because of the aluminum side plate, they are little tanks. This spool absolutely transformed the 80 into a dynamite reel for my type of fishing, which is throwing relatively small tubes and jigs for smallmo...

Re: Tatula Signature Series

I got to fondle a few of the new rods today at the Redcrest Expo. Daiwa elected not to bring the new rods to the show, but The Great Outdoors had a few they had ordered in their booth. Comparing the old 7-3 Ehrler rod the the new one it’s obvious the reel seat is lighter. The balance point of the ro...

Re: 2021 steez ags rods

Rounded up another Steez rod, the 6-9 MH Target Sniper, to go along with the Utility Player I've had for a year or so. Wanted this rod to use in the river in some of the tighter spots where the longer rod is a hinderence with overhanging limbs and such. Went down to fish the New River on Sunday near...

Re: Chris Johnston Rod

It is also possible that the new rods are introduced without changes to the older ones. Daiwa has said that the rods were to be designed by the pros with their choice of handle etc, so why not release the rod with cork handles? There are rods in the series now that have different handle designs, mos...

Re: Need Help Deciding- Daiwa Tatula SV 70 OR Daiwa Tatula 80

I have both and the 70 will cast lighter baits a bit farther, but the 80 with the slighter larger spool would be my preference for conventional bass sized baits. Both reels are very controllable and I find myself casting both with the brakes set at 2 to 3 on the dial. I am using light braid, usually...

Re: Chris Johnston Rod

I only saw the spinning rod on the TV coverage and that is it laying on the deck. The casting rod with cork appears to be a Tatula Elite given the prefix of the model number, I therfore assume the cork handled spinner will be as well.

Chris Johnston Rod

Watching a little of the Elite Series this Morning

Chris Johnston was using a rod that is not currently in the lineup. Spinning Rod with Cork Handle, painted silver to the first guide, then Black to the tip. Appeared to have AGS guides

Re: Ultimate Skipping Reel

That rod is relatively short and light. I think it deserves a Steez CT. The reel comes with a 30mm SV spool that starts quickly and is very controllable exactly what you want for skipping
