Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
Can any of you, and bronzefly I know you fish many of these, give me your thoughts on which conquest would throw large topwater (3/4 and 1oz plus) walking baits and pencil poppers? I was leaning towards the 904c. I am throwing these baits for smallies, so I don't want to be overkill and I don't want...

custom or limited color megabass baits, megabass or shimano jdm reels, imakatsu baits, cool hats or t-shirts would be a good start

Re: Jig head paint...
those are all good ideas, I have had very few issues with that paint, so maybe you got a bad bottle? Make sure you mix it really well too and wait at least 15 minutes between coats. Good luck!

this is the type i have used.

you need to let the paint cure for at least 24hrs, better if longer.

Re: Calais 100s on that auction site scammer
i've been following all of the calais 100A auctions for a few months now, including the one you're referencing. for a BNIB one, i think the price he finally got—$545 on his third try—is not out of the question. original MSRP was $399.99 price but, $45 in sales tax, $40 in ebay fees, $12 in paypal f...

Re: Favorite fly rod and why??
This is a more difficult question than just about any regarding fishing gear for me... For trout rods I am more of traditionalist. A good trout fly rod will always be a good trout rod. The Winston WT and LT series are still by far my favorite graphite trout rods. There is a truly special one in each...

Re: What lure disappointed you the most?
I caught a ton of fish on banjos i got for xmas when I was a kid when they first came out. It fishes just like a fluke really, but the nose hook can make things difficult.antoniolopez944 wrote:Banjo minnow lol, this bait has caught more fishermen than fish.

Re: What lure disappointed you the most?
+1 on the magic swimmer, but also the chrome colored red eyed shads. I tried 3 when they first came out and not one of three lasted more than 5 or so casts without sloughing off chrome like a bad sunburn One of them was basically ruined on the first cast!

Re: Megabass Heavy Jig rod recommendations
Let me ask, are you looking for ONE rod for 1/2 to 1oz jigs, plus trailer that you can use for big crank baits, big spinner baits, AND big swim baits? How big a swim bait? Before going into much detail, I'd want to be clear. Feel free to shoot me an email as well if you like at thetackletrap@gmail....

Megabass Heavy Jig rod recommendations
I am looking for the best of the best heavy jig rods from Megabass. 1/2, 3/4, 1oz jigs and t-rigs, would love it being versatile for big cranks, spinnerbaits and swimbaits but not really required. I am looking for ultimate sensitivity and bottom contact. I would prefer a rod of 7'+. Here are a few I...

Re: Megabass Xpod Jr problem?
I agree with the others regarding your leader, better to ditch the fluoro altogether.
I have 2 xpod jrs and both didnt want to stay in position 1. I was able to sort of force it to stay up after playing with them for a while, kind of a disappointment

Re: Zillion Flipping rod users?
I have this rod since the year it came out. I would call it an accurate heavy flipping rod. I have used it for flipping, pitching, punching, frogging and heavy jigs. I primarily fish it with 50-65# braid. I think it is a great rod and would recommend it for that price.
