I would love to pick up an Ito Monoblock. Those are sexy. Then I'd have to get a nice black and silver JDM rod to go with it though!
It's amazing how that damn little primate makes my brain function

Re: rough water poll(erie, amistad, toledo?)...
Any of the great lakes can get incredibly rough. It is estimated that the waves on Lake Superior the night the Edmund Fitzgerald sank were 80-100 feet tall I'll stick to small water thanks.

Re: Best polorized sun glasses?
I have the Oakley crosshairs polarized and I love them, but the simple fact is, I have found equal lens quality at lower cost. The styling, I like better, and am willing to pay extra for, but if your first concern is lenses and looks is second, there are much better options than designer brands, whe...

For this very same application, (though in Alaska) I use a Lipper Evolution rod and a Sahara 4000 reel. What you have should suit your desired activities just fine though. St. Croix is an excellent company, and my Dad (fishing partner) has relied on Mitchell Reels since the '70's.

Re: Best polorized sun glasses?
I have both oakleys and fossils. I like them both very much. Most designer specs (i.e. oakley) aren't worth the extra money. My fossils cost me 50 bucks and the lenses are just as good as the 200 dollar oakleys.

Re: IMA vs. Rapala
In my opinion, the X-rap is the best jerkbait on the market, I haven't fished a Megabass 110 though, or the Flit 120. Everything else I have covered though.

They sent me one, but it's a certain amount off your next purchase based on how much you spent on the last purchase.
I assume they sent it to me just because I am on their catalouge mailing list.

Re: Daiwa Procaster 100H /HN varations.
The Cabela's exclusive 100SE is a very good real for the money, especially since you can grab one online for 50 bucks. It's quite a nice reel. Also, the Rojo is a very nice reel, plus it has the added convenience of a flipping switch. Any variation is a good starter set-up though, and even beyond th...

Cabelas has carried a few JDM reels, they usually point it out though. They must have some deal with the manufacturers.

Re: BASS Insider
It's the only fishing show I've ever really watched (I consider Bill Dance more of a comedic show), because it was the only one that was more about the technique than about "Hey, watch me and my buddies go fishing, we might talk about what we did for 15 seconds at the end of the show!" Hope it's not...

Re: Is it just me or is the XRap..
I am just like you GO, a jerkbait freak. I fish them every day and catch fish with them everyday. I always start out with an X-rap to get a feel for how the fish are acting that day, and then I adjust accordingly. I have never been skunked using an X-rap!

Re: Is it just me or is the XRap..
Hot Steel is such a killer color, depending on the lake, it looks like a sunfish, a bluegill, and any other number of bright colored forage fish. That and the silver/black back are the absolute best colors Rapala makes.
