Tim did exactly what he said he would. Good communications, easy to work with. Positive experience.

Re: Suggestions for rods for Fuego 2000
Don't have experience with the rods you listed. Do have a Daiwa Sol 2000 on a Loomis IMX SJR782. Think it would do what you want very well. Easy to find used in your price range.

Re: Loomis Weibe Reel Seat..
Try a thick piece of tape applied to the reel foot. You may have to replace often if you loosen /tighten much. This is not a fix or a guarantee against marking, but has worked for me. Over time have also learned that the Weibe nut does not have to be tightened as much as you can. It provides strong ...

Re: Look what I found
These reel seats have some pretty unique characteristics. Due to the offset, on a casting seat (as shown) it will feel as if the reel sits lower than on a "straight through" handle like a Fuji. Fifteen years ago it seemed there were not as many very small / low profile reels and the larger, especial...

Re: Conquest 50DC?
This not intended in any negative manner. Big fan of the Conquest 50 and have 2. I have also previously had a Calais DC and a 100DC. (Sold both primarily due to weight)
What does the DC model 50 do or allow you to do that is that much better than the non DC version?

Re: Yo-Zuri Hybrid vs. McCoy Mean Green
Can't comment on Yo-Zuri. Have used Mean Green for several years. Like everything about it except visibility, which often is a good thing. Cast great, memory is reasonable. Does not break unexpectedly. Knots are good. All around great performing line.

Re: Travel Rod
I am different in that I like multi-piece rods quite a lot. Not saying I prefer them over a one piece but when travel is involved I much prefer to cope with travel rods. I found with fly fishing rods that properly constucted multi-piece rods can work very well. I have several travel rods including 2...

Re: Stuck 2-Piece rod.......HELP!!!!
If your rod is still stuck after trying the behind the knees method try this. Get help from 2 friends. Make sure you are in a wide ope area. Do the behind the knees thing and have each friend grasp one end of the rod outside where you are holding. All three coordinate your efforts and pull that suck...

Re: Rehabbing an old Ambassadeur
www.hookless.com Great person and really good with Ambassadeur reels. Sells a lot of parts also. My dad gave me my first good baitcaster, an Abu 5500c in the early / mid 70's. He has been gone for 25 years, and even though the reel was fished hard I still have it (always will) and it has great senti...

ROG,
Great day, fish, and outfits. Hope the weather holds for awhile and you get in several more good days this Fall.

Re: I got mine!
Looks like you may have had the same problem I did with the Steez. When they are new it is tough to put line on them and cover up all those "dimples" in the spool!
Anyone else have this trouble?

Re: Revo Spools
Looking at the 2 reels side by side the other day at BPS, it appeared that the Premier spool was narrower than the STX. It appeared to be quite noticeable. Are my eyes getting bad, or is that the case?
Is it possible the Premier spool is narrower, and still fits?

Re: Revo Premier: Great Finesse Caster?
I have an STX, and until a few days ago had only seen pictures of the Premier. Went to BPS and looked at both reels side by side. Was in a hurry so did not get to play with them. The Premier spool and the frame for that matter are narrower than the STX. The spools are very definately different width...
