Re: Bass fishing versatility: stubbornness vs confidence
The Popper market is one of the fastest growing markets in the industry. You should be able to find something very close in color, size, and action to what you lost. If not, sand, weight, or paint something like we did with the original Pop-R's. I would think so, too. I buy a few new poppers every ...

Re: Powell Rod question
I don't understand what you're talking about. Alconite refers to the type of ceramic insert and stainless steel is the frame. So max rods and endurance ARE stainless steel alconite Fuji guides. Other than the appearance of rods, the inferno are pretty close to the max rods except for mid-micro guide...

Re: homemade spooling station
Nice one !! I made something similar but didn't think of using cork as a spacer, used cardboard instead. That's a good idea. Being a lazy sob I use my power screw driver fitted with the socket that matches the handle nut on my reel to crank the reel. I can set it on the drilling mode, not as fast as...

Try casting with the handle facing down rather than sideways. That's more natural on your wrist

Re: Deep Diving Cranks and Short Casts-- need advice
I have been throwing crankbaits for 14 yrs. I have used them all. You are on the right track with the composite rod. The reel you have is a good one too. But,let me give you some advice on the reel. I have a Calcutta 200 GTB that I throw with. I had troubles getting good distance out of the reel. T...

Re: SKIRT COLLAR MELTING
Leaving the trailer on will somehow speed up the rotting and melting of skirt collar. I always replace them either with a small size cable tie (on jigs) or an O ring for spinnerbaits. I found the skirt tends to look better with an O ring. I use a portion of a discarded bic pen to put the ring on the...

Re: What are you going to do
Fishing is never going to be banned. That's just too big a piece to chew at at once even for the most extreme animal right activist. But they can take small bites here and there and make it so damned impossible to follow the regulation that people will give up fishing. They can ban lead, ban soft ba...

Re: Daiwa Tatula or T3 Ballistic
He might have a point. The pinion is supported on the spool side by one bearing and the picture of that bearing is on the review. But where 's the other one? The pinion is flush with the main gear so it can't be on that side. And in any case, even if somehow there are 2 bearings that would be nothin...

Re: Koppers changes the game
I can so tell how a meeting must have gone at koppers about a year ago. "Guys all that's selling right now are those damn urig. We're not making them, we're not making jig heads or swimbaits. We're missing out on all the action right now. People I want ideas I don't care how stupid it is, we'll make...

Who on earth came up with the name Tatula? I find the reel awesome and surely I'll buy one soon and more if it meets my expectations. But just the name is almost a turn off. There's gotta be more T words out there...

Re: Anise Oil and Salt on Plastics--Dislike
Oil based scents are useless since oil doesn't dissolve in water. Bass won't care about anise or garlic because they are rigged to smell meat. They can't taste salt either but salt is used to make baits denser and softer. And I agree some manufacturer put way too much oil in the bags to the point wh...

Re: Do bass really mind line color?
When I made mention of red being the first colour to "disappear" I was in error, much more likely that it is the first colour to change. However if fish are in clear water and have had a lot of pressure on them, using a long leader of the the lightest flourocarbon you can get away with is the bette...

It might be a scam but these are standard prices in stores in china and a couple other places. I'm not really surprised.
