Re: 3/4oz Topwater walking rod Suggestion

If I'm going to do this all day, I go braid so I don't wear out as much as a floating stretchy mono. 3/4 - 1 oz walking bait all day in general, I'm bringing my OG JDM Jackall Poison Adrena 7'0" Heavy Swimbait rod...it's a mod-fast taper and with a H+ backbone and rated up to 2 oz. Another sur...

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance

Hagane means "steel" in Japanese - just a marketing term for metal in Shimano land, just like Ci4 /+ or Magnumlite for PA+30 polyamide when you see it stamped. The gears (main) is cold forged that's about it. To counter the Calcutta B has a forged aluminium frame, from waaaaaaaayyyyyy bac...

The frames are cast / injection, not forged.

Unless someones saying they are - which I've not read anywhere in the current company literature?
This is what I thought as well...a forged frame in the Stradic would be a really big deal for me personally.

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance

As much as I love Daiwa (been fishing them mainly for the past like 8 years or so) they frequently make some questionable design choices in general. This becomes an off-topic post, because it's about MagForce/Z/SV - in baitcast, Daiwa's casting brake design is so brilliantly simple and effective in...

Yes I remember his work... IIRC, he was from Thailand. I don't recall his name or handle however.

Re: Do You still Use Lures that You Bought, When You're a Kid?

As a kid, perhaps 10 years old, I loved to fish. Had no money, no boat, old basic tackle. I used to stare at the beautiful and expensive rapalas, which were out of my reach. The local fishing shop owner, all around nice guy, needed rudd as baitfish for ocean fishing. He offered me a rapala f my cho...

Re: Best Spools for OG Zillions in 2024?

Good afternoon everyone!! I recently acquired an old Zillion Type R. The reel looked rough in the pictures but I figured it was just normal wear and tear on an older reel and i'm a sucker for the old TD-Z/Zillion platforms. Well I got the reel, and not sure what the heck happened to this thing, One...

Excellent input, thanks for sharing.

Which aftermarket spools are you running in the Silver Wolf? A Roro perhaps?
