Re: Baitrunner 4500B tension dial substitute?
I should have mentioned before they are frozen tightly together, can't turn left or right. I'll check with the part dealers. Thank you for the info.

Baitrunner 4500B tension dial substitute?
On my baitrunner 4500B, the baitrunner tension dial (RD3021) and the tension screw (RD3019) are stuck together. I can't get them to move at all. I would like to replace those two parts. I can still get the tension screw as it is still in use in the current baitrunner model. My question is that can I...

Re: Nice leader knot
Can't tie a complicated knot in the field even if my life depends on it. I can tie the fanciest knot at home, but once that leader is gone, I am back to the simple alberto knot. One of the reason I go straight fluoro / straight braid now.

Re: best combo
Going up to the ante on this one. Mine is the same 842c Glx rod. Reel is the Metanium MG7 with the D7 gear, yumeya bfs spool , and top it off with 92mm carbon handle & shimano power knobs. Best light t-rig combo I ever fished.Gyrfalcon12 wrote:G-Loomis MBR 842c Glx with Shimano Chronarch D7

Re: hook keepers
This thread reminded me of something I wanted for a quite while, just keep forgetting. Here is something I found on mudhole. A magnetic hook keeper that also covered the hook points. Anybody tried it before?

Re: Just Curous. Anybody here do Long Pole Fishing?
I am not talking about finesse stuff. I am talking about heavy line and heavy tackle, go down ad dirty in heavy cover. Although my interest now are vertical dipping for crappie. The same technique should be good for bass fishing.

Just Curous. Anybody here do Long Pole Fishing?
It's been a long winter. While wasting my time on youtube. I found the idea of long pole fishing strangely attractive. This is old school fishing with very long 9-15ft pole. While majority of long pole fishing is centered on crappie fishing. The idea of vertical dipping into every nook and cra...

More detail please. I heard similar stories.Boondock wrote:I have had two pair of Costa 580 glass they are alright. Warranty is terrible, will never own another pair. I got them back from getting fixed (frame coming apart where the plastic meets the rubber in less than 8 months) and sold them.

Re: help me choose the spinning reel
If you fish mono / fluoro. Go with a bigger size. bigger size spool = less line trouble. If you use braid, choose the one most comfortable to you. Drag smoothness is more important that maximum lb in spinning. Your rod is rated 10lb. Ideally, drag set at 1/3 line rating give you about 3.3lb if you u...

Re: First jdm purchase and in need of help
I love my Twinpower, but no way in hell is it a Stella FI, not even a Certate. You sure about that? The 2015 version just came out this month and I doubt too many people have it in their hand. All the CI4+ reels the OP suggested is based on the old stella fe design. Where as the new twinpower is ba...

Re: First jdm purchase and in need of help
IS there any reason why you would choose the CI4+ models? I would choose the new 2015 twinpower over any of these. It's a aluminum version of the stella fi. How do you feel about shallow spools? Japan lure shop seems to have the best price at this time.

Re: Any new Zillion spools, or SV options?
Dont take this the wrong way. For most people, they don't junp back into the same hole they just climb out of. Even if the hole is decorated with carbon fiber handle and other shinny goodies. Anyway I recommend the ip79 spool, comes with a very nice reel if you buy the spool

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I'll take function over form any day of the week. I am not going to any beauty contest with my tackle. I am there to fish, better yet, spank my buddy with my ugly a$$ combo.

Re: Reel foot protection
Is the scratch coming from the side or the top? the one on the corner is the hardest to protect. I used UHMW tape from mcmaster before with good result, but the tape don't stay on for long if you keep changing rods.
