Re: Abu Garcia Record casting reel ?
Thanks for the replies so far! I've also taken the Quantum Cabo into consideration as well. I think it would be a great deal as well. Outside of TT, I've talked to a few Musky guys about the Record and they say that not too many reels out there will be able to match the smoothness of the Record... B...

Abu Garcia Record casting reel ?
Hi guys, I'm in the market for a new Musky reel. I've been doing some research here and there on the Garcia Record reel and I'm pretty much sold on it. However, there is one issue I've been hearing about it - especially on MuskieFIRST.com For instance, I've been hearing that the anti-reverse bearing...

Re: Modest tackle box for the pike angler?
Lakewood Tackle Boxes http://www.thornebros.com/muskie/tackle_boxes/tackleboxes_lakewood.html They cost some $$$, but their quality is superior. However, I, on the other-hand opt for the clear plano utility boxes. I've got a few for all of my Esox baits and they work good enough for me. Saves me abo...

Re: Chub on spinnerbait???
My friends and I get some monster chubs here in the midwest. I can't believe the US record Creek Chub is only listed at like 12" and It's from Nebraska. Anyways, here are a few "lunkers" from North America. In the rivers I have fished, (especially in Illinois and Wisconsin), I have seen Monsters whi...

Recent Fishies - past 2 weeks - photos
Hello people, I've been absent for a while due to fishing in Northern Wisconsin. I'll be there again in a week and I'll be living there for 2 weeks.. Hell, I should probably just live there for the entire summer. But unfortunately it can't happen. The Bass have recently finished their spawning and a...

Re: P line XXX What do you guys think of this?
I find that the 6lb CXX works beautifully on spinning reels and you get a fairly good casting distance. Everything higher than that is trashy & loaded on memory. The 4lb works great on the ultra-lite as well. It's a trooper. Never tried using any of it on my casters. I probably should tho, just to g...

Was up north over memorial weekend. Didn't get as much fishing in as I had hoped I would and only took the boat out to the larger lakes once. In that time, I was out on a 1300 acre lake for 10mins, 1 smallie, 1 walleye & 2 Pike.. Then a T-storm comes and it's a total wash-out. I never saw the damn t...

The best bait anyone can have is to leave 'em alone.

Re: Some early Season Bass from IL - photos
I always wade it.
Considering that this waterway is probably no larger than 30-50ft wide at the stretches I fish it, it seems to be the best way.
If I had a Kayak or float tube, chances are that I'd rather be doing that instead.

Hey All, Haven't been around that much as of late. Too much fishing and school. Just wanted to show off some of the fish being caught here in Illinois during the past month. The fishing overallthis season has been slow and not as good as how last year began where I was catching lots of LMB's t aroun...
