Re: Reel Service
Thanks! I still haven’t heard back from Ian. I used Trey years ago and couldn’t remember his name. What is his ID in here if he is still around?

Reel Service
All, Any recommendations on someone to send 2 reels to for some service? I use to do everything myself and no longer have the time/desire. I’ve got 2 reels needing a bit of attention- a Conquest 100 and a Davies T3 SV8. I let someone local clean them both up but the conquest obviously wasn’t put bac...

Re: Reel Repair
I think I found my repair guy. Ill see if I get a response. The SV8 just needs a few bearings replaced. It casts fine, but isnt smooth on the retrieve. My buddy cleaned it, but obviously didn't replace the gritty bearings. I fish saltwater a lot. The Calcutta didnt seem to get put back together prop...

Reel Repair
All, It's been years since I've been on the forum, but I found a good reason to come back. Can anyone recommend someone to send a few reels in to for repair. I used Nitroman and DR many years ago. Specifically I have a Calcutta Conquest 100 and a Daiwa T3SV8 that need some attention. I sent them to ...

Ryoga 1016 SV
Sorry for one more post! I'm still exhausting some research on a new reel. I stumbled upon the 1016 SV today, and I can find next to no information on it. Probably not new to most of you, but new to me since I haven't paid a lot of attention the last few years. Does anyone have any experience with t...

Re: Shimano 19 Antares
Thought it must be the spool, but wasnt certain.
The chrome on my DC7 is still going strong! Didnt realize some were having issues with that finish. Thanks for the response!

Shimano 19 Antares
Can anyone tell me what makes this reel freshwater only? It would sure be nice to add it to my flats arsenal!

Saltwater Fluke Reel Recommendations
Been away from the forum for awhile, but it is time for me to finally buy another new reel. I need a new high end reel to specifically handle weightless Zoom flukes on the flats for sea trout, small reds, flounder, mackerel etc. I will either spool with 12# mono or 20# braid. I am almost finished bu...

CFX Carbon Grips
All, It's been a long time since I've been on the forum, but I wanted to ask a few questions regarding the CFX carbon fiber grips. I have decided I want to use their grips on a new build. How do the grips hold up over time? Any fraying or wear issues? Are you guys using them as is, or are you finish...

CQ14/15 Avail spool
Has anyone dropped the new avail spool into the new Conquest? I'm tempted to try one but wanted to see how noticeable the performance change was. Thanks!

Re: Best round reel for BFS - out of the box
The 51s is a completely different beast when it comes to finesse fishing vs a 101. The 101 works best for 3/8 oz and up in my opinion. You can spool a 51s with 3/8 oz and can handle under 1/8 oz easily with the right rod. Just realize line capacity is minimal on a 50s - I use 2# diameter, 10# test, ...
