Grease for tension knob

Bantam, I have a number of 70 series Curados with tension knobs that won't stay put. Saw a couple posts on here where you recommended adding some ACE-2 grease to the threads as a remedy. Can you tell me if the ACE-2 grease you're referring to is the same as the Drag Star Grease Cosmo Ace RB #2? Than...

Re: Flipping Jig without the Heavy Hook?

BOSS finesse flip in 7/16...comes with either a regular or fine wire hook.
Phenix signature casting jigs.
As mentioned above, the 3/8 Eakins finesse flipping jig is definitely worth a try too.

Re: Good compact spinnerbait options?

NICE FISH DHOTTIE!!!

Peppers 3/8 double willow is my go to.
I't more compact than most 3/8 spinnerbaits I have.
On the cheaper side and with a gammy hook too.

Re: Finesse Jigs

Its a little on the big side of finesse at 3/8, but I've caught a lot of fish on the Jewell Eakins Flip'n jig.
For smaller sizes, I put my own skirt on the Boss finesse flip jigs.

Re: how to effectively use brake settings

Lure weight and wind are what I consider when adjusting brakes. If you're lucky enough to get out on a windless day, take the opportunity to mess with those brakes. Try starting with brakes on higher, then go lower until you see the line on the spool loosening when casting... then bump it up a littl...

Re: Pitching Reel

I mostly pitch with 50 series shimanos that don't exactly match your criteria without gear swaps or spending more up front. They excel for pitching the lighter stuff. Have a couple Lews tournament pros that are great reels for pitching too though. They seem to work best pitching 3/8oz and up, but I'...

Re: What size spinning reel for Drop Shot?

2500 works for me.
Seems to balance best with most rods I've used.
Seemst to help a bit with line management over smaller spools when not using braid.

Re: shakyhead casting rod

AFTER I ordered da dx703c,I calld dobyns & they recommended da dx702c.but as da 703 wuz too stiff I'm almost positive da 702 is gonna b too lite I think you'll be fine. I use a 2 power for this application. No problem getting a shakey head hook through the lip when setting the hook. The give in the...

Re: Sufix Invisiline

I'm a fan, but only for certain applications. Second season using Invisiline after years of using Invizx. 12 and 14 lb are my workhorse diameters and I wish they were sold in bulk spools. Easier casting and less memory than Invizx. Less stretch than Invizx, but I haven't noticed it to be by leaps an...
