Re: RI Boom Boom Tube Discontinued
What's special about that tube? It just looks like any other tube to me. The Net Bait BK tube seems to be similar but it has a solid tip. They were the softest, yet thickest walled tubes I've found. Softer than a Tender Tube. Great for heavy cover flipping, but also deep open water where they produ...

Re: RI Boom Boom Tube Discontinued
Why? That's a shame. It's the best larger profile tube I've found, I haven't found any others quite like it. I always wished they'd make a 3" or 3.5" version for smallmouth, but the Boom Boom caught many nice Great Lakes smallies for me anyway.

Re: Pepper Clearwater Elite Spinnerbait - Opinions
Has anyone tried these and what are your impressions. They look like a great spinner bait at a decent price. Compact so they should be killer on smallies. However there are two negative comments on TW regarding the front blades not spinning. I have learnt over the years to take these "reviews" with...

Re: Boomerang line cutter
I've had a few since they first started selling online. I also have a new one from last year and have given a few away as gifts over the last 2 years. I can't tell the difference in performance in my newest version compared to the original. So to me, they're as good out of the package as they are af...

Re: Anyone dump SPINNING all together??
I gave up all spinning gear about 8-9 years ago when I learned to use a bait caster. That coincided with discovering the Tackle Tour forum, among other resources, as well as fishing on large mouth only lakes. I later relocated to a small mouth dominant region. The more I depend on real on the water ...

Re: STAY AWAY FROM BASSTACKLEDEPOT
If I were in the situation the OP was, I'd just ask for a full refund / cancel the order. Did that ever happen? I skimmed through so maybe I missed that, but I doubt it. Problem is, you cancel the order then you miss out on the sweet 25% savings. If you don't cancel, then it sounds like you're willi...

Re: Anyone flip with big tubes?
In case you want to try others for comparison, I recommend the Reaction Innovations Boom Boom Tube: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Reaction_Innovations_Boom-Boom_Tubes_9pk/descpage-RIDT.html It's a 5" tube but it's not too bulky; it's very soft (yet not too thin walled like Zoom tubes which tear rig...

Re: Best Tool For Cutting Braid
These http://tackletour.com/reviewboomerangsnip.html truly remarkable how easily they cut braid. These are the best in my opinion, given the convenience - and price is a bonus. I've used plenty of different scissors and pliers with cutters. Most eventually dull out, or are just cumbersome to carry ...

Re: Baitmonkey The Past Few Days!
These sales are nothing but trouble. Instead of just keeping Tackle Warehouse in business, I'm spreading the love to The Hooked Up Tackle (buy 3 get 1 free on Lucky Craft) and Bass Tackle Depot - more Lucky Craft, Keitech and Megabass. I was able to resist stocking up on Jackall and Reaction Innovat...

Re: spinnerbait for clear lakes?
are spinnerbaits effective in gin clear lakes? What color would works best? Yes. All it takes is a little wind/waves to break up the surface. Or overcast / low light conditions. I fish a wide range of colors (skirt and blades) on Erie, which is typically very clear water. Most popular are white/cha...

Re: Shimano Saros FA, Stradic FJ or Sustain FG.
Yes 10# braid for drop-shot w/ leader. I spool maybe 1/8th of the spool with mono backing. No reason I guess why I can't try with more backing, I'll try that, thank you for the tip. And might increase to 15-20# braid for the second setup.

Re: Shimano Saros FA, Stradic FJ or Sustain FG.
Gabriel, thank you very much great info and help there on the possible Symetre/braid issue. miracleJim I feel pretty confident buying any of the three and may end up with two of them. For sure they're going to be paired with application specific, higher end (in my opinion) rods. Likely the first pur...

Shimano Saros FA, Stradic FJ or Sustain FG.
Has anyone used the new Saros yet? They are available I see from a few retailers. I'm interested in a comparison to the current Stradic and/or Sustain, though maybe they're just not on a level playing field to give a fair comparison. I'm in the market for a new spinning reel, and could use some disa...

Re: Rod Setups
I'm guessing you're looking for specific brand/model recs but maybe you'll find this guide helpful too. Might depend on whether or not you're fishing out of your own boat, or fishing as a non-boater. I snagged this quick bare minimum guide from Wired2Fish (can't find the link to the original article...
