Re: Back on the water soon.
HAHA! Thank you Sir. Getting better every day, (so I think) HAHA! However I'm trying to keep it on-line only for the most part. Not going down that road like last time. No pics, Maybe If I get a PB, MAYBE. But anything else, well, I will keep it under my hat. I will not be a report this time. I don...

Re: Back on the water soon.
I'm glad I didn't get any offers on my boat and stuff. Well I got asked about lures only and had to stop. I didn't want to get stuck with a boat and no gear. I guess I miss it a little  I will start fishing again when theres not much of a swell  These days I get excited over a good wave a...

Re: Swimbait Reels
I was told the Curado 300 DSV has a bigger main gear than all of the Calcutta line and it's almost as big as the Trinidad's. I know musky guys use the DSV so there shouldn't be any problem with torque.fishalldayandallnight wrote:does the calcutta really have that much more torque then the curado?

Re: Dobyns or G. Loomis?
that Mike Long 807Mag paired with a Daiwa Big Bait Special is what I'm aiming for. This is one setup I won't need to hold before using I recon.

Re: Houston... I have a problem!
if you've used that same rod with braid sometimes the braid will leave grooves in your tip or guides. Also Stripers have very sharp gill plates and sometimes the line can pass by them and sever. Still need to know the specifics of what your using though. If I could recommend a line it would be 25-30...

I see the new inshore reel has an oversized handle. Not sure if it works though.

Re: best shad swimbait/rod/reel combo
I would think you'd be okay with a heavy jig rod or flippin' stick. Check these baits out I'm sure you'll find somethin' that's close to what you have locally

Re: what is your confidence swimbait?
matt lures trout and triple trout. The hudd doesn't always do it... especially when they want a more active eratic presentation. ya you know it really depends on the type of year but hudds cover that winter through spring time of year when the big girls are out munchin' at the buffet  summer t...

Re: Broken Daiwa LT Flippin stick
Daiwa is a great company! if your out of warrenty and have the 1st or 2nd gen. L&T than you can pay to get the upgrade +your shipping. Daiwa was kind enough to replace my 1st gen 6'6 MH and 7'6 flippin' stick for their new stock L&T's because they sent me two rods from their lower end line without c...

Re: Swimbait Rod Recommendations
Also, U.S. Market rods only. I'll spend the money if its worth it, but I'd rather keep it below 200 dollars. Any suggestions?? US made only is gonna limit you big time...one of the only rods I can think of would be the Rogue 796. ...a friend of mine has it and really digs it for throwin' Mission Fi...
