Re: Need Help: Calling all Crankbait Addicts .

Don't listen to those guys above. Rapala Shad Raps are junk! 8-) Are you kidding? This is a goto bait for me. & I think we are only a couple hours apart so we may be fishing some of the same lakes. I have caught more smallies trolling & cranking rock piles on Erie (pelee island )with a black...

Re: Pere Marquet

Just got back. The river is loaded.

it will only get better for the next couple weeks.

Caught so many I became bored & went out on Lake Hamlin smallie hunting.

Also caught a few pike on a fly rod on Hamlin.

Re: Pere Marquet

If they're not in the PM, I head up to big bear creek or Tippy dam.

Good luck & drop me a line to let me know how you did. I'll be heading up next week.

Thanks,

Pere Marquet

Is anyone on TT in Michigan fishing the Salmon run on the Pere Marquet?

I hear it's a slow start this year & was wanting some updates.

Thanks,

Re: Boat Question?

About 4 years ago, I was trying to make the same decision. I chose to go with a 1993 Astro. It was / is in great condition & I have never thought I made the wrong decision. For what you're going to pay for a new tracker, you can have a really nice used fiberglass that will be more stable, fishable &...

Re: what a day

I like that action rod for a general purpose rod. I think they advertise it mostly for drop shotting, but I have 2 (powell & st. croix legend) that I use for weightless or light worming as well as small crank baits

Re: Wow! I am so impressed with this site!!!

I am too. I tried reading other forums, but they are not even close. Some guy (who had a ton of posts) was giving terrible information about reel specs. I tried to politely correct him & he just came back telling me I didn't know what I was talking about. I almost posted the spec sheet, but what goo...

Re: rough water poll(erie, amistad, toledo?)...

I live in Ohio so I get to Erie some each summer. I also drag my boat to Big Sam every March. Hands down, Erie (or any great lake) will whip up larger waves, but in most cases they are rollers. I can deal with the occasional 4-5 footer if it's a roller. I was on Rayburn end of March 2006 when the wa...

Re: Uncle Josh Pork Trailer

I have always used a small drill bit on the cordless. Lay them all out & drill away.

NOTE: Use the smallest bit you can to avoid loosing the trailer.

Re: Glass

Good question TD 5, I hope you get some knowledgeable responses. I am still fishing all of my med - deep cranks with an old Falcon 7' medium action because I am scared of the weight of glass.

Re: Finesse Baitcaster

I use a Powell 682CEF for weightless worms & don't think you could get much better for the money. It is amazingly light & has an extra fast tip. With no for-grip I can place my index finger on the blank to help with those light bites. I have a steez on it & can outcast spinning reels with a 4-6" wei...
