Re: Sensitive Moving Bait Rods

My opinion is to go with as sensitive a rod you can afford for any technique you normally use as it will make you more efficient on the water. So what’s your opinion on this subject? I am 100% in agreement with this. One of my favorite moving bait rods is the Steez AGS 72MHRB. It's incredibly versa...

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod

The 76MML-AGS is the standout of a great group of spinning rods in the Steez AGS family. The 7'M AGS is a fantastic rod and has all the positive attributes one would want in a rod of its caliber, but the 76MML has that "it" factor in my hands that's unmistakable when you fish it. There is quite a b...

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod

Gary- is there any significant difference between the 76MML and the 7M Steez AGS. Well, besides the length (and the 76mml can handle slightly lighter weights). I know the 76MML is the 'unicorn' spinning rod and you've used terms like 'magic'... does the 7M follow in it's bigger sibling's traits? Th...

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod

I hadn't considered a steez, as I thought they were considered overpriced for the sensitivity they provide. I guess it is that 7M model or the conquest. Do you have a comparison on the balance of the 2 rods? I would lean conquest, honestly, since it is viewed as the top tier rod in the U.S. market,...

That is a little long to bring in and out of my car, would be the main issue. Are you Gary from the Tackletrap?
Yes sir. Understood on the length. The 7' Medium AGS would be another worthwhile contender on your list in that case...

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod

If the length wasn't an issue, the Steez AGS 76MML is without a doubt one of the greatest spinning rods I've ever used. It's extremely versatile, incredibly sensitive, and is just flat out fun to fish with. I've fished both Certate LT and Exist LT on it and haven't found the rod to be overly tip hea...

Re: U-40 pros and cons

The cork grips that I've held after this product was applied felt slick and slippery. Maybe it's just me. My opinion...that's a sign of took much Cork Seal being applied. Agreed. One thin coat can't be stressed enough. I put U40 on every single new cork handle rod I get every time. I use a small cr...

Re: Daiwa Steez Rods

I've spent a good bit of time with the US Steez AGS rods and they are deserving of top tier, enthusiast level classification and performance in my hands. The 761MML spinning rod is incredible and one of the best spinning rods I've ever fished, the 71MHXF is a great stick, the 74XH, and on and on... ...

Re: Where to buy MB parts for Steez

You can't just buy Megabass reel parts, unless you have the original defective part. Only way to find those parts is to hope someone swapped their stock MB reel parts with something else. So how does that work? You send the part to them and they send a new one back? My experience hasn't been quite ...

Re: So who bought the ZPI Alcance?

Ask Bryan about the very first one that came across his work bench at The Tackle Trap... ](*,)

I'm also out and perplexed at the choice to move away from their legendary product line. The their latest PG spool for Daiwa is an absolute masterpiece... I stocked up

Yes it is. The kits in stock at The Tackle Trap include the Carbontex drag stack for the upgrade. Metanium MGL Brass Gear Sets It does not have the 7.4 gear set in right game, just left hand. Yes true, I believe the pinion is on back order on the RH sets in that ratio. I wasn't sure whether you nee...

Re: TackleTour Shootout : Stella FJ vs Exist LT

Thanks, have you opened them both up to see the key differences? I plan on buying one in the future but the more info the better because the Exist is not cheap :big grin: Bryan is Exist LT certified and the chief reel tech at The Tackle Trap. It's beyond my pay grade to crack that bad boy open and ...
