Re: Zillion sv TW 1000

Dealer says 18th before they can officially announce and USDM will be $50 ish less than JDM version. Your dealer is a prime example of why manufactures try to keep things under wraps as long as possible. We'll all know the details soon and out of respect for the manufacturer, and my own business, I...

That's great news for the guys who are wavering because of the aluminum gears. Unfortunately, the USDM version will cost a good bit more.
Lots of interesting speculation in this thread!! Come on official reveal date of new product

Re: Oneten stick jerkbaits

I've fished the XXX OneTen quite a bit with the 110 and the Pop Max. I'd agree that it is better with baits in that 3/8 to 1/2 oz range than it is with 1/4 oz baits, but I found it to be an effective, pleasant rod to fish. I'm not a huge fan of that Megabass reel seat type, but it never bothered me ...

Re: Someone talk me out of this....

It really is a unique and very special rod. I have a couple that I've used for everything from jerk baits to drop shots, shaky heads to finesse jigs and t-rigs. It definitely deserves its legendary status. Get one, you'll wish you had sooner!

Re: Steez A deep cranks?

I've thrown the Big M 7.0 on the 6.3 Steez A, along with 1 oz spinner baits, and other larger, heavier resistance type baits without issue. The Steez A is a tank of a reel and the 6.3 has plenty of power for those kinds of applications. I do have the 5.3 as well that I use for slow crawling certain ...

Re: Daiwa Kage LT MQ

Anyone here by chance handle a Daiwa Kage MQ spinning reel yet? Looks to me better cosmetically than the Vanford. Basically a Zaion Certate it seems. Yes, they are in stock at The Tackle Trap. They are impressive looking and feeling reels indeed. The Zaion Certate is a reasonable comparison, I woul...

Re: 300 Size Reels, Tat or Curado?

I have been very pleased with the new Tatula 300 in terms of both performance and build quality. Bryan at The Tackle Trap likes to tear into a new reel as soon as it shows to inspect internals, check the build, and become familiar with it from the beginning. This one is built very solidly and feels ...

Re: St. Croix Legend Xtreme 2020

The 76MML spinning rod is amazing indeed. The BC is fantastic. I agree that the 72MHRB is a very versatile, fun rod to fish. The 80MHRB has been an incredible deep crank rod for me and I love it for covering what feel like epic long casts with a lipless and a Tatula Elite Long Cast... I really, real...

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000

Suggested MSRP from yen is 410$. Digitaka is listing it 350$ when it comes in stock. Won't be cheaper in the US. This isn't directed at you personally, but fortunately, bottom line price isn't the only consideration for everyone! A lot of folks still like to support board sponsors, or better yet, r...

Re: St. Croix Legend Xtreme 2020

I found a bottom contact new for over 20 percent off. Is the bottom contact still a great rod for plastics, texas rigs, and jigs? Is there something better in the 480 price point? I purchased one recently and fished it hard the past few days. its a special rod in my opinion. superb balance, great s...

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000

Never had a baitcaster with aluminum gears but the ones on pictures at the jpn Plat website looks solid, non-micro and must surely do for my intended perch and walleye fishing. Good to read that Daiwa hav'nt had massive alu-gear issues. Conteplating about If I should drop the Tatula SV TW 103 idea ...

Re: Swim Jig Rod Suggestion

Have you used the Madbull at all yet? The "regular" taper is shying me away but that carbon reel seat is sooo sick. Yes, the Madbull is a true medium heavy with good power and a smooth, even action that flexes deeply into the blank. I fish spinner baits, vibrating jigs, various treble baits from 3/...
