Re: Spinning Guides
Thx for sharing Matt yeah seems like theres always some new latest greatest system. I know the rods ive built using similar reduction guides to what you suggest cast great. I did one with the standard K guides in 25/16/10 and that setup worked great too. setup like the NGC. I have a few Kr sets in 1...

Re: Spinning Guides
Why’s your typical guide train look like for a 7’ish spinning rod look like Mattman? For most freshwater set ups that aren't at the ultra light end or the heavy swimbait end, not counting the tiptop... 25, 16, 10, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5. Matt Everyone seems to have jumped on the KRh guide system these days....

Re: Popping out of snags > daiwa anti reverse failing?

Re: Do You Use Spinning Reels?
i started with a zebco 33 and then moved to a baitcaster with a few trys at spinning(mono days) hated it and for years fished nothing but baitcasters for everything. BFS before it was a thing...those days it was always a hunt to find ML casting rods and LH retrieve reels. When i started fishing for ...

Re: NFC XRAY MB684 VS SB684
im most familar St Croix rods and blanks. so i kinda use their numbers as my baseline...from the numbers it looks like the SB684 falls right in between the SCs66MF and the 68MXF as far as power goes.

NFC XRAY MB684 VS SB684
hello TT, Been awhile since ive been on the boards. anyway...as title says, MB684 vs SB684 XRAYS. Blanks look very very similar in the deflection charts from rodhouse. the SB is alittle lighter in weight. Read in another topic here the SB684 RDA at 386g and fast action. Anyone compare the two? RDA o...

Re: Sinking Braid Experience
yeah I hear ya but used other knots back in the day once I started using crazy Alberto dazen or so years ago I wasnt going back. that knot gives me best performance hands down over any other leader to braid connections for my style fishing. also tried more wraps and when that broke tried even more. ...

Re: Sinking Braid Experience
So glad this came up! Just spooled up 2 reels with 18.5lb YGK oh dragon SS140 to use on my tube rods for river smallmouth. Line spooled on nice , cast great, smooth, and had as good a feel as most other braids I’ve used. Did feel I had a little more connection to bottom in the wind we had. Wind knot...

Re: Broken rod and rehab ...
I've always read fiberglass spigot ferrule is the only way to go, graphite doesnt have enough flex. but even then as mattman posted it iffy at best. believe me I've tried with the lami xmg50s which I have a love hate relationship with, love the feel, weight, performance....until they snap ....in fac...

Re: North Fork Composites
been off the boards for awhile and just started checking back in different rod building forums. to my surprise every thread I see NFC mentioned is complaining about horrible CS and extremely long lead times
