I'd probably use a flipping rig, peg the sinker and bury the hook deep into the bait. 20# fluoro and an Owner Jungle hook. You got an extra heavy rod?
I do actually
Just got 25lb floro and spooled a bantam reel matched with a GLX 895 rod :-k
I think I’m thinking what your thinking

One Smart Fishy Opponent

I often fish ponds whenever possible. This particular pond has a concrete wall that I stand on. Attached to the wall is a square dam that has a opening which allows water to spill over in times when the rains come. Anyways every time I cast to the left corner there is a fish who want bite until the ...

Re: Educate Me on TD-Z 103GL-RZ Limited Edition

With how many fingers in front of the trigger are there reels meant to be palmed with? You are supposed to palm them while casting? I passed on one a while ago because they didn't look like something I could cast and palm but I have regrets everytime I see one. Just one, they sit low on the rod. Yo...

Re: New Poison Adrena

Caught one swimming a jig. !! Huge mouth skinny body. Wanted to buy him some food 😆 Anyways. I didn’t want a reaction bait rod. And I’m trying to want to like this rod. The wife said it’s so light and she doesn’t like it because of that. But I paired it with an Antares and I’m thinking (take a deep ...

Round Reel Question

I was looking at a Lin 10 Origin And I wondered what was the difference between the Lin 10, Royoga, monoblock and millionare? If you could get one would it be worth it OR is the 2019 Daiwa millionaire a better choice? I’ve had the new conquest but I wanted a smaller one in a higher gear ratio. I sol...

Re: Educate Me on TD-Z 103GL-RZ Limited Edition

Thanks to you both for your service - I didn't know your son was also active duty, congrats! On the reels - those are all left hand built on the "flipping frame" design. I had that reel, and several other with that odd shaped frame, but no matter how I tried, I couldn't get used to them and got rid...

Educate Me on TD-Z 103GL-RZ Limited Edition

TD-Z 103GL-RZ Limited Edition AND Cover Hacking Reels What type of gears, spools and drags did they have? Who has one for sale they are parting with? Which is the most sought after and which should be avoided? Was any RIGHT HANDED ? I’m thinking of going in a entirely new direction as a gift for my ...

When I initially read the thread my first question was , are we talking casting, spinning or both?

Nope, it's whatever your interests and preference are.
Understood
I have a spinning but since Florida lakes aren’t super deep
I’m fishing 100’ max
