Re: Any chance of a Curado 300K?

If we did a Curado 300K it would more than likely share the Tranx 300 tooling without some of the water resistance built into it. My suggestion would be to get the Tranx 300HG and swap it to the double handle. It will be fine for bass applications. I did this with a 400HG for my big glide bait reel.

Re: New Stradic long stroke spool?

Yes just a taller spool. The concept is less friction on the line as it comes off the spool. It is a noticeable difference when casting the Stella compared to other models. Now the feature is on the Stradic. The new Stradic is really nice.

Re: Any chance of a Curado 300K?

I'm not sure to be honest. I have discussed it a few times with some different people, but I think the cost would be about the same as the Tranx.

Re: Chronarch G spool

The G spool is slightly heavier, but better for use in saltwater. If you are using this in freshwater stick with the MGL spool.

Re: Curado DC levelwind not moving.

Proper spacing for the pawl inside the level wind is critical. If there are too many shims the cap will not tighten correctly. Without seeing the reel it's hard to say what is going on. More than likely it is a simple fix. The clicking could be an issue with something that was stuck in the worm shaf...

Re: Curado e Revision series info

There are revisions from time to time that we may not be told about. It could be for strength issues, or simply tooling/molds do wear out. I am not 100% certain about the paint application process. I think they are sprayed by hand in large batches, but don't quote me on that. Based on some issues I ...

Re: Aluminum pinion and brass Main gear

If you can find the MG7 gear set go for it. I always recommend changing gears as a set. I would not run a new pinion on a drive gear that had a damaged pinion. It's cheap insurance to change both gears.

Re: Aluminum pinion and brass Main gear

We didn't make an aluminum pinion gear for the baitcast reels. The Chronarch D model reels used brass gearing for both drive and pinion gears. The pinion gear is always a harder material on the gear set due to the way it engages the spool pin. It can't be too soft or the spool pin would destroy the ...

Re: Repainting a reel...

It's the light in the office. It makes it look different than it does outside. I didn't do any editing to the pics to adjust it since those pics were just for my buddy. In person its red with no orange look to it.

Re: Curado e Revision series info

They could be using two different molds for the side plates depending on the age of the reel. There are always small running changes that take place, but typically the reels are not marked with revisions like you mentioned. To be honest I never noticed it while those reels were being made and sold. ...

Re: Repainting a reel...

I use a candy paint of a very carefully prepped frame and side plate so the letters and numbers come through. Then it's being careful with the clear coat application. I did a red one too for a good friend that fishes the FLW Tour. I don't have any pics on my phone of the blue reel. Here's the red on...

Re: Repainting a reel...

I've airbrushed a few and never again. The tolerances are tight on a lot of our newer reels and the masking takes a long time to do it right. Here's a blue Metanium I did for myself. I did the whole reel this color with black accents. I cheated and used an airbrush and good automotive 2 part clear c...

Re: ICAST 2019

I am going to buy one just to encourage Shimano to produce reels with names I can pronounce. Just for that Shimano is going to change the name to Eshellaleks. That'll be the Shishamo version. Feast your eyes on the Cadence CB8. Please tell me thats not a Doyo made Shimano. We will never have an OEM...
