Medium Crucial upper lure weight limit?........

Hi all, I just received a two piece medium ex-fast crucial rod (7'2") for a trip i am taking to the boundary waters in two weeks. The rod says the upper limit is 3/8 of an ounce. Does anyone have a real world upper limit? I am mainly going to be fishing spin jigs, dropshots, shakeyheads, t-rigs, sma...

Re: Ever use a GLoomis escape casting rod?

thanks guys! I will take a look at the 2 piece GLX! and the main rod you mentioned... the 6'9" MH was the one i was looking at. I was a little thrown off by the 3/8oz-1oz as i was thinking of throwing slightly smaller lures. It was really a toss up between that one and the 7' M power... i guess 6'9"...

Ever use a GLoomis escape casting rod?

Hi all, I am going to northern minnesota to fish in a few months and wanted to take a pack rod since we will be portaging quite a bit. Has anyone ever fished with one of these? Can you please comment on sensitivity of the rod? And if you have fished or owned a great baitcasting pack rod made by anot...

stradic 1000 or 2500 for bronzeback 6'3" light?

As the title says. I plan to always have 10lbs braid on it. which would balance the rod out better?

thanks!

Re: help. size of spinning reel and spinning reel line.

well this is my only spinning rod so it will be used for mostly everything that entails "light" tackle. shaky heads, light t-rigs, light jigs. at some point drop-shotting. it will also be used to fish for crappie, rock bass etc.

help. size of spinning reel and spinning reel line.

PART 1- ok, just ordered a spinning rod (7' medium light) now i need a reel to go on it. i am set on getting a stradic, i just don't know what size yet. i like the weight of the 1000, but i also like the drag of the 2500 size. i was just wondering if the 1000 was TOO small for a 7' rod. is it more o...

Re: Lucky Craft Real California Premium swimbait

wow, i thought it would be a great bait because of lucky crafts reputaion. good think i posted here.

as for the river2sea kong bait. the river i fish is basically shallow with rather heavy cover. do you think the shorter floating one would be a good choice??

Lucky Craft Real California Premium swimbait

since it is relatively cheap, i was thinking of getting this bait for pike. think it will work? does anyone have this bait? i live in ohio sb fishing isnt all that popular here, but i figured it might be handy to have a swimbait laying around.

thanks

Re: Top Water Smallmouth at High Noon

do you prefer a 6'8" to a 7' when fishing a river? i've got a nice river by my house with lots of smallies and lots of structure. maybe 10yards to 20yards wide depending on where you are. i was thinking of getting a 7' medium to search out these smallies. but perhaps a 6'8" will better fit my needs....
