Reel guru's please: Internal brakes
I have several reels with internal centrifugal brakes that you can place in "on" or "off" positions. I have been running my reels with 2 brakes in operation, one directly across from the other to be "even". My question is can I run a reel with only ONE brake on? Will this throw off the balance of th...

Re: BPS Johnny Morris baitcast reel
John,
I think all of mine are 2005 models? My JM reels were the FIRST year they did the dual braking if that helps?

Re: BPS Johnny Morris baitcast reel
None of my JM reels have "play" in the handle, never have had. Thats one thing I wont tolerate, and, one of the 1st things I check in a reel.

Re: BPS Johnny Morris baitcast reel
I have 3 of the silver JM reels (all with the dual braking), one has done 3 years of CRANKBAIT duty, one just all around use and one has done two years of Musky plug duty, baits up to 5oz in weight  I have had absolutely NO problems with any of my JM reels. Sometimes they were running them on...

Re: solvent question
The Alochol will dry residue free.
I'd test anything stronger.

Re: My new Toy
Thanks Buck! It balances very well actually. I was kinda worried that it may be tip heavy with such a small reel and not that long of a handle, but it's NOT. It might have been if you used "standard" componets and guides, but this rod is spiral wrapped, the biggest casting guide on it is 1 size 8 ri...

Re: Dropshot Rod
Any rod blank can be built into ANY style rod, YES you can have it your way :D 1/8oz-1/2oz Extra fast Med action is about mid range for a dropshot rod. I like the Baston RX8: RX8+S822.5 Drop Shot 6'10" 1 6-12lb. 1/8 - 1/2 oz. 0.450 4.5 Extra-Fast M 1.76 oz. if budget allows, and if not the Baston RX...

Re: line for jerkbaitfishing
Darkshadow, I use the Power Pro for jerkbaits, and yes, I do use it for crankbaits. I wouldn't suggest using a fast action stiff-ish rod for cranks with no stretch lines, but the "crankbait" rods all do well with braids. My current crankin stick is a Baston Rainshadow IP904 (popping blank, MH, 7'6")...

Re: The samples of Superlines are needed
Vladimir,
I think you're asking for line samples? I am on the "Pro Staff" for Power Pro fishing line and I'd be happy to send you a sample in 20lb test. PM me your address and I'll get one in the mail for you.
