Re: Getting back into BFS
Decided on the fuego CT with a diy spool. Leaning toward the Phenix feather 7'1 L as a usdm option https://www.phenixrods.com/products/freshwater/feather/ Or the kuying 662L. Anyone have experience with the L power feather? You're gonna love the Fuego. It's a Tatula without the T-Wing. Definitely a...

Long time no see ... good to see ya back.
USDM BFS is a tough call. You should check out the Kuying rods over on Aliexpress. I got this one, couldn't be happier with it.

Re: 1-3g hard baits
Cabela's Sweet Pea crank, which is actually a rebranded Matzuo Nano Crank. If you liked the old Yo-Zuri Snap beans, you're gonna love these. These run much better than the Beans. They run about an inch long and are sinking, so no need to burn them to get them down into the water. Fantastic little ba...

How much force can a spool shaft that is maybe 3 - 5 mm in diameter supposed to withstand and maintain it’s alignment ? Probably not 30 lbs ...

Re: Stop with the "30lb max drag" Nonsense!
It's marketing bullshit, nothing more. It's aimed at the "more and bigger must be better" mentality.
When it comes to drag on a freshwater application, I'll take absolute smoothness over strength all day every day.

Sufix Advance copoly mono ...
I just spooled up my BFS rig with 6 lb. Anyone here have any thoughts on it ? I usually run braid mainline with a mono leader on pretty much all of my rigs. I did pretty well using that initially on this rig, but with the tiny guides on the rod (Kuying Teton TTC 662L) I felt the knot would inhibit c...

Re: Do you use a dremel?
I have considered a dremel/proxxon for some time, but havent made the purchase yet as I am unsure of what version to get. Any help - also with add-on items (brushes?) would be much appreciated. I can only speak for the Proxxon Micromot, you'll notice the 6 different sized collets that come with it....

Re: Snaps for UL fishing
Got a bag of 200 of these from Aliexpress for under $10 US shipped. I got the smallest size 000, been fishing them for a while now without issue. To put that size in perspective, a regular pencil eraser is approx 7.5 mm in diameter. These are quite small. The prices some companies charge for a bag o...

Re: Recommend $100 UL Spin Rod for Minijigs and 2 lbs test?
This place https://www.fishusa.com/ has one of the better domestic UL rod selections. They often run sales and specials, just have to keep an eye out for them. I've bought from them many times, never an issue. Use the filters to whittle the choices down to ultralight and you're halfway home.
