Re: Fishing Misconceptions That You Wish Would Die

Fishing at night requires dark noisy baits like big Colorado blade spinner baits that beat the drum. Nonsense. While I know noisy baits will work, there's been many times I've done very well on a pearl Super Fluke or a tube. Live prey doesn't get noisy after dark and the fish find it just fine. Fish...

Re: Mend-it glue drying up

If it’s gelled you’re done, you’ll never ungel it. That being said, I make my own mendit using a 1:1 ratio of acetone and clear PVC pipe cement. I get the exact same results (strength, flexibility, etc) as with the real stuff. A couple of rules to remember if you’re going to go this route ... first,...

Re: Automotive Observations

As far as safety. Generally a current sub compact is probably safer than a 2 ton sedan from the 60s or 70s. I say that without any facts at my finger tips but there is a much bigger emphasis on safety now. So that is my opinion and yours may be different. Spot on. For the longest time there was a m...

Re: Automotive Observations

There was a fantastic documentary on PBS some years ago that told the story of the big three's fall and the rise of Japan in the automotive world. In a nutshell it told the story of how Datsun (which would become Nissan decades later) introduced it's first vehicles here in the late 1950's primarily ...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Big Black Drum have moved up and started tailing on the rock piles. I don’t normally fish for them, but sightfishing giants like this can be fun. 1/16oz jig with 3” swimbait on my 843c Conquest/Stile SS put the heat on them. It’s fun to see how many times you can turn them when they get moving :lol...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Because of the unstable and unseasonably cool weather it's been a tough finding the big 'uns this season so far, so I've been doing a lot of ultralight & BFS fishing. One lake in particular I fish is an excellent lake for this because of the large variety of fish. You truly never know what will bit...

Let's eat !!!

Who's up for some baby backs ? ... Baby backs with the silver skin removed. Slathered with yellow mustard (it's a good glue for the dry rub and adds a subtle vinegar tang) ... the rub is salt, pepper, garlic, chili powder, smoked paprika and ginger. Into the Weber kettle that's set up for a long low...
