Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

The fall feedbag was on this weekend here ... yesterday & today were really good days in spite of today's blowing wind and being 15* colder than yesterday. The humble $4.00 Bomber Square A crank was the top producer both days. https://i.postimg.cc/fypcPH39/IMG-0180.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/PfYmy...

Ha ! I grabbed a few of those while traveling last winter but haven't actually tied them on yet ... good to know they get bit.

Re: UL Reel Spool's "LIP" - Shimano vs Daiwa

A coat of car wax on the line contact area of the lip will reduce friction even further. We're not talking huge gains here, but every little bit helps.

Well looky what I found ...

I travel for work and scour stores for tackle gems ... I found two of these Bomber Fat A 3F baits at a Wally World in Delaware in a Pradco random bait box. My final destination was Maryland where I just hit the local WW and scored two more. Pradco does not list these on their site at all, it's like ...

What spool ?

I have a Sol in retirement I may pull out to put on my incoming Kuying Teton L power rod. The rig will primarily be used to cast hard baits in the 1/8 oz to 1/4 oz range. As of now the Sol is 100% stock. Any suggestions (links appreciated also :) ) on an aftermarket spool that will really make this ...

Hardbaits vs Plastics ...

Do you favor on over the other for any reason ? ... As far as my fishing goes it's about 90/10 in favor of hard baits. I just kind of gravitated towards them over the last few seasons as my 'whims' changed. I still will throw plastics on a jighead if that's what is getting bit but I'll always have s...

Re: Kuying Teton

I specifically bought it for what I refer to as 'mid range hardbaits' meaning treble hook (minnows, squarebills, etc) baits in the 1/8 to around 1/4 oz range, baits that are at the high end and beyond of my UL comfort zone but don't do as well as they could on my ML casting gear. I don't throw much ...

Kuying Teton

Man, what a pain in the a$$ trying to find a light power casting rod. Domestic choices are VERY limited, didn't want to break the bank on a high end JDM. After much searching and research I found one that met my specs almost to the T ... Aliexpress to the rescue with the Kuying Teton. I just ordered...

Re: I guess the hungrier you are ...

Very nice! What single hooks are those? I have never found ones I really like for cranks that small. https://www.finesse-fishing.com/images/Owner-cultiva-sbl55m.jpg This guy is in NY. Prices and shipping reasonable. https://www.finesse-fishing.com/replacement-barbless-hooks.html Pay attention, ther...

... the less picky you are about your meals  Fishing was awful today, once again UL saved me from the skunk. Re: Let's talk UL crankbaits ...

It seems like the pool of sub 2" traditional shaped squarebill cranks is slowly shrinking. As far as high end stuff goes, 0.5 Lucky Crafts seem to have pretty much vanished. Not too many manufacturers making downsize squarebills at all it seems. SK has the Bitsy Minnow, which if you get a good...

It's been a while, what are your thoughts on the inline single hooks ?

I for one like them in certain applications and will continue using them.

Re: My UL Spybait Challenge

Dumb question, do the props spin on the vertical fall or only on the steady retrieve ?
