Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s
For the Steez A 2, whay spool options are out there for a little less line capacity. Something that holds around 110 yds of 12 lb line.

Re: Looking for help on NRX + 873
I don’t have the current NRX plus 894 but have the 854 and 873. I had the old 894. My thoughts are is the 873 would fit right in between the 854 and 894.

Re: Have you preordered a mb p5 destroyer?
I have been able to get one trip in the the FMJ and BMG. Unfortunately I was unable to generate a bite on either. I don’t have a lot to offer just yet. My initial thought are very positive. Both very comfortable to fish. The FMJ has a faster taper than the BMG. The FMJ feels very similar in power to...

Re: Have you preordered a mb p5 destroyer?
Received both the FMJ and BMG. Both have not disappointed on what was anticipated. The FMJ does feel a bit faster than the BMG as expected. I have read where some feel the FMJ is a bit tip heavy. I noticed this a little but is a non issue with reel mounted. I tried 3….Zillion G,Met 20, Steez A. All ...

Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity
I have a pair of Zillions and several 20 Metaniums. All reels are U.S. market reels. I don’t have any issues with the Zillions yet. About half of the Metaniums have the buzzing/geary feeling. They have also been used the most. I have also had some Curado 150 MGL’s that have come out of the box feeli...

Agree with the Zillion and also the Steez A. Both are fantastic reels along with the Metanium 20.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Have been a big fan of the NRX blank. Strong/Durable/Sensitive blank. My biggest complaint has been the reel seat. It failed early on when they were first introduced, which they have fixed, but I never have cared for the skeleton type seat in general. I hope to see them use the Ci4 reel seat (on bot...

Yes! I forgot the conquest spinning models had the Ci4. It is a very comfortable seat for both casting and spinning.

Re: NRX 9th Year at ICast 2019 / Revamp?
I would like to see full cork handles and the Ci4 reel seat. I was really hoping for the Ci4 reel seat when the conquest models came out. I have never cared for the reel seat on the NRX and now Conquest. Both rods are so good I have just dealt with it.

Re: Gear ratio: 8 VS 7?
When I first started using my 13 Met XG I noticed it’s loss of torque relative to other 7.x reels I was using at the time. Increased resistance while retrieving baits, etc. I thought it would be OK until a battle with a 5lb Lanier spot showed me otherwise! Swapping out those 8.5:1 gears for 7.4:1 m...

Re: Gear ratio: 8 VS 7?
Thoughts on power between the two ratios? I have not had enough time on the 8 gear to really get a feel for the difference. I’m still thinking I may prefer the 7 gear for its versatility. For some situations I think I prefer the longer 96 handle. For others I may prefer a 90. That is kind of a hang ...

Gear ratio: 8 VS 7?
Looking for opinions on what gear ratio everyone tends to prefer for bottom contact fishing. Casting, pitching, flipping, dragging, etc. I have mostly used 7 gear in the past and have recently purchased an 8 gear. My initial thoughts are that I like the speed of the 8 to take up line for the hook set, ...
