Steez 8' flipping stick uses?

Besides the obvious lighter end flipping/pitching/jigs up close what else is the masses tossing? Was hoping I can play with some 1/4oz jighead arig action this spring and maybe some light swimbait action (1oz and under topwater) action seems pretty ok for that with some good tip.

Re: What pound flouro?

Id go 10-12 on the EMTF and 14-16 on the jig/paddle tail. I like to live dangerously and Id go with the lower end of both of those recommendations. I don't fish much wood around here for some perspective. 3-6lb fish are above average and your lucky to tangle with more then 2-3 that size in a tournam...

I have both the 893 nrx and the Diablo spec r and I can tell you they are almost identical in power and taper and feel. The Diablo being a hair softer

The one rod I would stay away from is the 803, lost my ass selling it too. Super stiff and very short. Thought it'd be a good senko stick and it's not for me at least

Re: Need help on which Rod to buy. Dobyn's Dx, MegaBass or E

Just picked up a Diablo spec r and it would most definitely fall into the 3/16-3/8oz finesse jig comfort zone. That's what I've been casting around in the snow at least. Hair softer then my nrx 893, which I feel is the ultimate 3-8-1/2oz finesse jig stick.

Re: Pitching/Paddletail/Frog Rod (Replacing Powell 765 Max)

Give a xx a try, I just picked up another (Diablo spec r) and it's extremely close to my nrx 893 in both action and power. I've fished four dobyns rods (2 champion and 2 champion extremes) and those rods are worth half of what they cost. Your not even in the same category as an megabass xx, daiwa zi...

Re: New Zillion Rods

Id give it a 7-7.5 in that department. It's good and pretty for the $200 price point. Not in the same league as nrx obviously. Sure someone with more high end spinning experience could chome in. More sensitive then a dobyns extreme 7' spinning rod I had as well.

Re: New Zillion Rods

Have the 701ml spinning rod. Its pretty good. 1/8oz is just about the lightest this rod can throw (if you didnt know, daiwa rods are a good deal stiffer then the competition's rated rods- medium light more like a crisp medium)

Re: new IMX vs last gen

The general consensus by loomis guys is that the previous imx was twice as sensitive as the "new" imx. I bought a 843imx mbr and immediately sold it 2 months later (had to give it a chance) for $235 shipped. Part of the game I suppose. Same with the two gl2 rods I bought last season. Fished um for t...

Re: Hudd gill

The problem with the weedless huds and huds in general is a big lost fish ratio. Just the nature of the beast, hence why mike long and the big swimbait guys yank those fish in as fast as possible. Go fish shallow immediate post spawn with a swimbait and you'll be shocked at how many bites and follow...
