Re: Would you use them for a high end build?
For the record... I'm not a recoil fan. I haven't had any groove on me but I still prefer Fuji's. If durability is a concern I'd flush that nanolite down the toilet where it belongs. Sorry if that sounds harsh but of the four AT Nanolite rods I've built... All four have needed multiple repairs and o...

Re: Trolling Rod for Muskies
Get something big and fiberglassy, they just take the beating better than graphite. In my opinion i'd never spend my time building a rod that is going to sit in a downeast rod holder all day getting beat up. Just buy a factory rod for this and save your time to build a custom for casting.

Re: Chronarch 101B Questions and Fair price.
I like my 100b very much. Im a sucker for open bearings and the reel is built like a tank. Its smooth, powerful and i see no issues with it as a flipping reel. That said i do like my curado 50e's as well. Different class of reel though, the CH100B is much more refined where the CU50E is more of a to...

Re: Spiral wrapped rod question?
Get yourself some Stick Jacket style rod condoms. They make rod lockers a cinch.dragon1 wrote:About the only drawback to spiral wrapping is that this design tends to "tangle" more in a rod locker.

Livre handles
Just received my 2nd Livre handle from Japantackle today and man are these things sweet. Amazing machining, super smooth bearing, really light... Crazy pieces of work. How come no American/Canadian company makes reel tuning parts? Would you guys tune more reels if parts were available locally, built...

Why not put the spirex handle on a real reel? What else could possibly be so good about a spirex that you would want to put money into it.

I find that a big flaw in birds software myseflf. I have the older units and have the same problem. I never look at the corse heading and I'd much prefer temp. The readouts should all be customizable on all pages. Its kind of frustrating. On the upside i like the new waypoint management.

Re: Chronarch D and Curado 100D difference
Ive got em both and they're both great reels. I have a CH100D7 and a CH100D5 and love them both, every time i pick one up it puts a smile on my face. I have a CU100DSV as well, its the sneaky little bastard of my 39 reel collection. I stuck a Chronarch 50mg spool in it and it improved the casting te...

Re: Custom rod blank for jigs
Rumor has it that NFC blanks are slower tapered. I havent built any, but word on the block says so. I do have a basement full of MHX in both sm and hm models. I really like the MHX product line as a whole although i tend to prefer slower actions in general. MHX has to be the best value in blanks tod...

Mudhole might havd shipping Nazi's working in the back, but a great staff working in the front. Yes they do rape you on shipping, but I'm in Canada and everyone rapes Canadians on shipping. I ordered 50 dark burnt cork two orders ago meaning the dark hurt cork mix (camo looking cork). Called Gary ba...

Check out these 18$ blanks Mudhole is blowing out. It would make a great first rod or two and you won't cry once you realize your first few builds suck and don't want to fish them anymore.
