Nice review! I thought I was the only one left with a Weibe seated MBR721 IMX. I have an Alphas SV on mine. Love the combo!

Yes, same lines plus braid. No need for steel leaders. Their teeth are sharp, but they don't shear line like pike and muskies. Not a dumb question at all.

Looks like it will blow-up plenty of upper Mississippi River smallmouth bass (and eyez); my namesake!

Re: Shimano Breaks the Mold with the Upcoming Calcutta D
If you get a chance to cast a JDM Calcutta 100 D make sure you do. Then you will appreciate the "50" size ergo along with just a bit more capability (in my opinion) than an actual 50 sized Shimano round reel, it's very much a 100 package with the pleasant 50 feel. Think about that. And it ...

Re: Shimano Breaks the Mold with the Upcoming Calcutta D
A few weeks ago I gulped, and bought the JDM Calcutta 100 D. This 100 palms like a 50 sized round reel and it's casts as freely and easily as it gets. Smooth and powerful retrieve, too. Re: The Speed Spool Returns – Lew’s Tournament Pro Baitcaste
Nice review! I handled a Lew’s Tournament Pro Baitcaster at a shop the other day and I kept coming back to it because it just seemed so well put together. All of the "clickies" (tension knob, magnet dial, and drag star) were so crisp and worked so nicely, best in the shop and that included...
