Don't let the nay sayers dampen your enthusiasm. The LTZ really throws light stuff amazingly well.

Re: Ultra light casting rod
Most of my fishing is done with l and ul bait casters and one of my favorite rods is built on a batson walleye blank. 6'2' rated for 1/4 oz and up to 10 lb line. Its a very nice and versatile light rod thats does a lot of things very well.

Re: Need help with a reel seat on small blank
Make a sleeve out of a scrap piece of blank or another way that I like is put cork (I use burl) on the blank where the reel seat is to be placed and turn it to the proper diameter for the seat. I think this looks good and works great.

Re: Cal.Conquest VS Morrum ZX VS Bay Ryoga(2014)
The conquest is an awesome reel but I have a hard time figuring out how to use it enough with the gear ratio and the 76cm handle. i sure wish they would have made a couple more changes, especially at the price point. My conquest 51 is the best made reel I own but Irarely use it.

Re: Bfs, Centrifugal or Mag ?
the setup with 3 out of 10 magnets will work, you can get by with less than 3, but only when you are not casting for max distance. i have found if you want to throw hard for max distance you need more magnets or more pressure on the spool end via cast control knob, which seems to defeat the purpose ...

Re: Bfs, Centrifugal or Mag ?
you can get neodymium rare earth magnets from dealers online in a variety of thicknesses and they are much cheaper. Let me know what size you need, i probably have some extras that I would give you. PM me if I can help.

Re: Bfs, Centrifugal or Mag ?
i think you will like the avail mag brake MUCH better with more mags. The number they send is not enough brake throwing light baits. My conquest 51 was an absolute squirrel with the avail default setup. i bought a bunch of magnets online and filled the brake holder and the reel cast very light baits...

Re: Bfs, Centrifugal or Mag ?
I haven't been able to use the ss air much due to shoulder surgery. I was very impressed the little I used it spooled with 50 yds of yozuri hybrid 6#. It threw very light baits extremely well and just seemed like a keeper.
