Re: Daiwa Japan's SS SV : A Steez in Disguise?
You guys got too much time on your hands to worry about this. Buy and try.... Why would anyone but a U.S. Steez if it is nothing but a SS with a few more bearings for $400.00 when one could buy a JDM SS for $250.00? Then a person would only need to upgrade the handle with a Steez EX (which is rough...

Re: Daiwa Japan's SS SV : A Steez in Disguise?
Enjoyed the review, does this mean if I want Steez SV like my older Steez, I have to buy JDM or just buy SV spools? Both the Steez (original and EX) and the SS share the same spool along with the TD-Z (except 100M and Fuego). My question was worded badly. Let's try this: Is the new USDM Steez a EX ...

Re: Daiwa Japan's SS SV : A Steez in Disguise?
Nice review. You say that the new USDM Steez is a JDM SS plus a few bearings? How did you determine this? The Steez has clicking cast control knob, more bearings, And different nose peice. Are the internals of the new Steez SS or based on the Steez SV and Limited reels from Japan. If the internals a...

I would have thought that also but in the review it says aluminum and high grade plastic.BucketHunter wrote:Pretty sure the entire reel is composite/graphite/plastic.

Re: How Low Can Daiwa Go? The Refreshed AIRD Baitcaster
Can you explain the composite frame again. What part is aluminum and what part is graphite plastic? Seems the Lexa and Exceler would be better low cost feels versus a graphite/aluminum hybrid frame.

Re: Zodias or E6X for 200 dollars?
After handling the Zodias at the Classic, it gets my vote. But waiting on the new 13 Fishing line of rods that should come in a slightly under this price. Wonder how the Zodias is versus the Tatuala? Agreed. The Muse series is rather intriguing. According to Jim at 13 this new Rod will not be the M...

Re: The Search For One : Phenix's Maxim Series 7'3" MH
Interesting read. I think instead of searching for the One, you should have a Battle of the sub $125.00 rods. Omen vs Veritas vs Maxim vs Daiwa Lexa vs Daiwa TD-S vs Fury vs Duckett Ghost etc. Seems this area is growing rapidly and the quality is finally starting to show up.

Re: Kistler's Refreshed Magnesium TS : The MgMDXH710T Mad Do
Good write up. Upon further investigation on Kistler's website the guides have aluminum oxide inserts. Also the reel seat is a Webo. But then again it says exposed blank reel seat which is wrong on their website since it is obvious that the seat does not expose the blank. http://www.kistlerrods.com/...

Any information on new Greys products? For the money the rods are well made, nice looking and fishes great (GR307'6" 3wt).

Re: What a Concept! 13 Fishing's Concept-A Reel
After reading the review sounds like a pretty decent reel for the money. Wonder if the drag had an issue? Seems way off for the advertised poundage. Overall sounds good to go. Might have to try one out.

Re: 2013 Bait-the-Finesse Finale : Daiwa T3 Air
Cal,
Since there is a new air reel (SS Air) from Daiwa coming out, will you see how it stacks up to both of these other finesse reels?
