Nice pics and fish! but don't call it a small steelhead call it a BIG rainbow :big grin: Thats funny because thats what I said when I first saw the fish but after we got it to the net the guide pointed out a few key things to look for that are tell tale signs of a Sacramento river Steelhead. The mo...

Re: 2004 pixy rod/alphas reel for Salmon Fishing?
It depends on what type os salmon were talking, probably be good for kokanee salmon, but I doubt you'll have enough rod or line capacity for any true salmon like chinook(king). Uness your chasing them in a boat they will take you for a ride, and try to spool you. It's been a while(13 years) since I ...

Re: the unexpected one
I've caught flounder 20-30 miles inshore before so I'm sure they come up river either chasing food or to spawn.... Either way all I do to them is clean and remove the head, leave the skin on, wrap it up in aluminum foil with some butter, parsley, lemon, onions, and maybe some rosemary(depending on h...

Re: pay more for rod, reel, or equal on both?
My reel are easlily more costly than my rods... I usually spend around $200- $300 on a rod and start with a $250-$400 reel. Then after getting the reel I'll pop in a spool, handle, knobs, bearings, ect... So add anywhere from $100-$250 or so to the original price of the reel and it could be double t...

Re: New Alphas 105HL video!!!
The only advantage of a fixed inductor is a lighter spool hence the ability to cast lighter baits. As far as casting management you are obviously better off with a moving inductor. Not always.... On light bait applicaions where the bait needs alot less inertia to get going, so your casting motion i...

Re: Who makes a good co-poly?
Since trying Yo-Zuri Hybrid 2 years ago I havent had a reason to use any other line. The stuff is strong and sensative, on rigs I would usualy use FC line I use braid main line with YZH top shot.

Re: My 2011 lineup.....
You can barely see the true color of the reel, black with blue metal flake, it realy shows in person in the sun. This combo is my favorit to fish followed by the DX703/TD-Z 100m, and 736C/Zillion Type R. http://i317.photobucket.com/albums/mm378/ih8calaws/717566156_photobucket_77522_.jpg http://i317....

Re: paypal fees
Wouldn't bother me.... But if it made the price exceed what I'm willing to pay then I just move on. As bad as I may want something if the price don't jive I don't buy.
