Re: My DX702 and Daiwa Sol
Great looking combo man! My Sol is paired with a DX703C. You're gonna love that Dobyns, I'm up to 4 of them. And when did you start fishing Daiwas? Get a set of Boca Orange Seals for that thing. I got a set for my Sol last fall and fell in love. Ordered 3 more over the winter and they'll be installe...

Re: Pouring bismuth jigs
Wow, I didn't realize it was nearly 10x the price of lead, depending on where you get it. Keep us updated, I'm interested to hear how this comes out. If it's fairly simple, it would be a practical (as opposed to Tungsten and it's melting point of around 6000 degrees) and environmentally friendly for...

Re: Pouring bismuth jigs
I've never tried it, but I think it could be done with the same equipment. The melting point of Bismuth is quite a bit less than that of lead, so a regular lead pot will work fine. The densities of the two metal are fairly similar and you'd be looking at approximately .05-.06 oz per cm^3 different, ...

Re: Jig Storage Box
For a while, the only non Falcon box I had was a Plano 3700 for my jigs. I put a divider in every other slot so I get 6 compartments per row. That gives me 24 compartments and I can then fit 4 jigs without trailers in each one. That gives me room for about 96 jigs. I've got one that holds my pitchin...

I can't be the only one interested in a mobile version of the site.
I've heard good things about Tapatalk. It's free for forum owners/admins to add their forums and $2.99 for Android/iPhone/BlackBerry users.

Yes, definitely! Although like my fishing stuff, I'd probably have a hard time parting with most of it...Cal wrote:Maybe we need a camera equipment subdivision of the classifieds

Re: What's in Your Camera Bag?
The EF 50 1.4 is my favorite. When the lights go out, the 50 goes on my 7D. ;) Cool, thanks for the feedback! I ended up getting one and have only shot a bit with it, but I like it so far. While the construction is no L lens, it sure feels a lot better than the 50 f/1.8. Gotta love the USM too. I'v...

Bird From Today
While working on my computer in my room, some birds were making an awful racket outside my window. Thinking it may be the hawk the comes around to grab a bird every once in a while, I mounted the 300mm f/4 on my camera and opened my window to find a tree and full of starlings. Also some sitting on t...

Re: Swim Jig!
Very nice. :D Been fishing your jigs a lot this winter and I couldn't be happier.. Can't go back to "normal" jigs now tho! When will they be available? I'm glad you like them! I'm still working on getting everything together; skirt colors, hook options, eyes, etc. Right now I'm aiming to have them ...
