Yes and yes.
Bantam, I have over 30 Shimano reels with no issues whatsoever. But, these two will not reel up or string up evenly. The cast control knob is tight and I use the Berkley reel "stringer station" when I string up (it keeps tension on the line).

Re: Spybait rod
I was thinking of going spinning, I have a M spinning setup but want to go lighter. I was also going to try my x4 RattleViper/SSSV combo this year as a casting setup for them but I think the line I'll have on will be an issue maybe. I should also mention all the spybait I have are the Duo 80s, the n...

Re: Bantam . . . I need your help (again)
Bantam,
It happens when I fill the spool AND when I fish with the reel. I'm thinking that perhaps the levelwind is off kilter?

Re: Bantam . . . I need your help (again)
Bantam, The two reels that do not string up evenly are: Shimano Curado 201E7 and Scorpion XT 1501-7 As for the type of line, I use McCoy Mean Green copolymer, generally 12 1b test. Although I have owned these reels for some time, they are practically brand new because I could not get over the fact t...

Re: Bantam . . . I need your help (again)
Bantam, Ok thanks. One more question for you . . . I have two Shimano reels that do not string up evenly. No matter what I do or where I place the line, they will not string up evenly. Anything that can be done? Is this something the Shimano repair people will look at? Ryan NOTE: I've been with this...

Re: Bantam . . . I need your help (again)
Bantam, A few years ago, you helped me get missing rubber pieces for two of my Chronarch reels (the small rubber inserts on the knobs fell out). If possible, I need your help again . . . This time, I am looking for the piece that screws into the opposite side of my spinning reel that secures the han...

Re: VMC Spinshot Dropshot Hooks
I tied the VMC Spinshot hook onto my dropshot rod. Because of the space between the top and bottom swivels, the hook does not sit at 90 degrees. I am hoping that once it is in the water, it will work just fine. Anyone use these hooks yet? I don't think the fish care if the hook sticks out perfectly...

Re: VMC Spinshot Dropshot Hooks
I haven't given any thought to the diameter of the wire . . . I am still fixated on the fact that the hook doesn't stand straight and just hangs down. But you make a good point.

I'll try again also. What river are you fishing? Delaware, Pequest, Muscenetcong?

Thanks. I will pick some up. I am leaning towards the 8lb instead of the 7.
