Yes and yes.

Bantam, I have over 30 Shimano reels with no issues whatsoever. But, these two will not reel up or string up evenly. The cast control knob is tight and I use the Berkley reel "stringer station" when I string up (it keeps tension on the line).

Bantam,

It happens when I fill the spool AND when I fish with the reel. I'm thinking that perhaps the levelwind is off kilter?

Bantam, The two reels that do not string up evenly are: Shimano Curado 201E7 and Scorpion XT 1501-7 As for the type of line, I use McCoy Mean Green copolymer, generally 12 1b test. Bantam, Ok thanks. One more question for you . . . I have two Shimano reels that do not string up evenly. No matter what I do or where I place the line, they will not string up evenly.
