Re: Curado I question
Take another look at the instructions that came with the reel. They advise you to apply a light layer of oil to the brake blocks and the race. Use a ear bud and apply a very light layer to the tips of the blocks and the race. The noise should disappear.

Re: Stradic ci4+ foam grip
Mine did that as well. You have three choices:
- Glue the foam grip in place
- Get a new knob (and risk the same happening again)
- Replace the foam knob with a septon one.
I took the last option on both my CI4's.

Luckily members such as Zimbass and others are prepared to help out with maintenance related questions and FishShimano pops in every fortnight or so to thank all for their questions.

Re: Carrot Stix Switches Gears with the New Spectra 2-Speed
Interesting but I think these reels will be doomed before they even hit the market. 11 to 12 oz for a 2000 size reel and available online from China at a fifth of the price A non starter . Even if they supply 5 spare spools.

Re: Necessity of friction ring in Shimano spinning reels
I also had an issue with my Sustain FE. Reel repair man removed the friction ring and this solved the problem. He also told me that this part is basically unnecessary and the reel functions just as well without it. So why is it there?

Tacky. Every year the same tacky two articles. My search hasn't been exhaustive but I can't find, or recall, any other bass-related website (forums or boat/tackle manufacturers) that choose to use scantily-clad women in their marketing. Totally agree. They are way overdressed.
