Re: How many rods/reels do you actually use
Good opportunity to catalog everything for my OCD brain (it's been a while), along with use: Bass Rods (a couple occasionally target steelhead too). All are used regularly: 1) Custom Loomis GL3 MB783 & Citica 201 - small spinnerbaits, chatterbaits 2) Loomis IMX CR721 & Scorpion 71hg - river smallmou...

Re: Need a couple Shimano parts...
I always try Bass Pro Rod & Reel first. Especially if you have one of their stores close. You can have parts shipped to the store and save shipping (but you have to pay tax). On small parts orders, it's a great way to go.

Re: Ultrasonic Tips
It's a Kendal that I think is the same model (with a different name) that they sell at China Freight...err Harbor Freight. I'd hinted for a while about a Eumax, which I know lots of guys here use. Instead I got the above (b-day present). Not looking a gift horse in the mouth kind of thing. Now, as l...

Ultrasonic Tips
Finally got around to getting an ultrasonic cleaner. I've used it on about 4 reels and I've got to say I love it. A rough 10:1 Simple Green mixture with the heat on for about 5 minutes. A quick swish in the basket to remove loose crud and another 5-ish minutes. Parts come out like new. I've just pla...

Re: G. LOOMIS PRICE INCREASE???
Surprised nobody has mentioned the falling value of the Japanese Yen. Not too long ago 1 USD would buy you 100+ Yen, now it's closer to 80. Well, one way for Japanese companies to compensate is to raise prices here.

Chronarch 100B Replacement Handle
Bantam -
I have a someone looking for a larger "saltwater-esque" handle for a Chronarch 100B (handle that attaches with the two small screws on the back). Does Shimano make a larger handle option for the CH100B style?
Thanks in advance!
Matt

Re: Switching baits quickly
Agree with previous post. Cut it off and retie...using a palomar knot only takes a few additional seconds. Unless you've got fish busting on the surface, those few seconds likely won't matter.

Re: waterproof backpack for shore pounding?
When I fish from the bank I cram a couple bags of soft plastics in pockets (with additional hooks/sinkers in the bags) and have 2-3 rods with me. Combos I'm not using are leaned against a tree/bush or layed down. If I break off a hard bait, well, then I'll either retie at the truck or just keep fish...

Re: What is thr monetary value of your fishing collection?
Rod/reel value was almost $5,000 until I decided I needed a nice AR-15 and sold a few combos. Now it's around $3,500.
Probably another $500-$700 in tackle.
Kind of a lightweight around these parts

I use a big flat head screwdriver to get it started and then a smaller one to finish it off by sliding it the rest of the way

Re: Bantam Coriolis Schematic
Not sure why, but I didn't check Shimano's website. I just did and it isn't available.
The reel is black....and old. Early to mid 80s I think. Similar profile to the 1500.
Thanks as always.

Bantam Coriolis Schematic
Bantam1, Had an old-timer give me a disassembled old Bantam Coriolis to reassemble. I can tell it's missing some parts (pinion gear, springs, etc), but I'm not sure what else. Appears it works a little different as compared to newer Shimano baitcasters that I'm familiar with. Do you have a schematic...
