Re: The Power in IKE, Abu Garcia & Mike Iaconelli's MIKEC76-6

Are they designed to make 2-pound fish feel like 5-pound fish?

Re: Daiwa's Beloved Alphas Gets Another Variant - SV

I didn't even realize the level wind moved when pulling line till I read this. I've been enjoying casting damn near everything with this I guess I never paid attention. I think the review came so fast before they get bogged down with Icast, and this little gem couldn't wait. If the lineguide doesn'...

Re: Daiwa's Beloved Alphas Gets Another Variant - SV

Something else I noticed in the specifications is that it is listed as having 2 bearings per knob. My reel had no installed bearings in the knobs and came with 4 bushings. Anyone find anything different?

Re: Product Insight : Zillion TWS a.k.a. Tatula Z?

I read it when it was released and I also seen your post to Cal stating much the same thing you did in your previous post as well as his reply. You and I both know that casting distance is way down on the totem pole of features that make for a nice reel. So I guess in my mind the point is probably ...

[quote="Bootytrain] This, and if we give the same weight to the comparison test done here between the Zillion TWS and the Chronarch CI4 where the testing showed the Zillion TWS to be a better caster and equal to the Chronarch in pitching. With this new insight basically saying the Zillion TWS ...

Re: Product Insight : Zillion TWS a.k.a. Tatula Z?

this article highlights why at the "street price" of $100 all day the regular Tatula is one of the best deals in fishing. This, and if we give the same weight to the comparison test done here between the Zillion TWS and the Chronarch CI4 where the testing showed the Zillion TWS to be a be...

TT Shootout : Zillion TWS vs Chronarch CI4+ (continued) http://tackletour.com/reviewshootoutci4vstwspg2.html Pitching: For the pitching tests, I tied on a 3/8th ounce jig from Bass Patrol and once again found that after about a dozen pitches with each reel, distance was roughly the same. The interes...

Re: Product Insight : Zillion TWS a.k.a. Tatula Z?

The bigger problem Daiwa has is that they basically proved that the floating spool design is really just marketing and has little to no real world benefit. DaveJ Yes, it was a big mistake on Daiwa's part to create reel variations that permit direct comparison. Great job, Cal! Sort of like the Citic...

Re: Goin' for a Walk with the Jackall Iobee Frog

Great review, spot on as far as I am concerned. I have been using these frogs for a couple of years now, and have been satisfied with them so much that outside of a few varieties of the SPRO frog, I carry nothing else. If you are looking for the easiest frog to walk, this is it. I have had my best l...

Re: Performance at a professional Level? BPS's Pro Qualifier

Also I believe the reel is manufactured in Korea and not China, Doyo, Mfg. if I am not mistaken. I don't know who manufactures them, but I have seen them with both Korea and China as the manufacturing origin; even on two reels in store that were side by side. Interesting, I have not seen one with t...

Re: Performance at a professional Level? BPS's Pro Qualifier

I don't think many seasoned anglers are fooled by claims many make about the PQ in terms of build quality and performance. I thought the review was fair and spot on. One comment that I wish the reviewer had followed up on a little was his claim that he felt there were other reels in the same price r...

Good article, would have been nice to see a clear picture of the clutch assembly.
