Re: Daiwa Tournament SS Spinning Reel. Educate me
I have been using them since they came out in the 80's . I have bought numerous other reels to replace them over the years but end up selling the new reels. They are fantastic spinning reels that just do not tear up. As others have said the drag is great the spool has a nice design. And for $100 for...

Sand it put some Naval Jelly on it made by loctite (I am pretty sure) then a good oil based rust control paint. ie ruetoleum. And I have 27 years in the paint business FYI.

Re: Okuma and Quantum reels?
I bought a Okuma Baitcaster early this year did not pay retail and got the 30 rebate. Figured it was worth the shot for the price. It has been a good reel only time will tell if it is a great reel but has preformed well so far. I would not fish a quantum if they were given to me for free. With the e...

Re: 1oz spinnerbaits
I use 1oz spinnerbaits all the time in the summer night fishing, but like smalljaw said with a 1oz I am fishing 15 ft plus. You could use a 1oz for 8 to 10 ft. But I would be burning them if I were using them that shallow.

Re: NO sissy hooks!
Try the Owner 5304 deep throat, Great jig hooks. You will have to get somebody to make them for you or make them yourself. But I have never had any problems with that hook.

Dale Hollow in the fall. One of my favorite crankbaits, but they will work you to death.
