Re: Chronarch MGL line pawl
Keep seeing these reports of issues, but seems to be the same people everytime. My Chronarchs are no shelf queens, if you want some info about these reels and what they can handle, send me a PM. I've posted the same reports several times and posts like these still come up. There is nothing to worry...

Re: Chronarch MGL line pawl
The Chronarch MGL is made in Japan with parts made in Japan and assembled by Japanese workers. There is no change in how we build the reels. It's hard to see what is going on via a web forum. The pawl cap is the piece that is slotted for the screwdriver. There could be an extra shim for the pawl pr...

Re: Chronarch MGL line pawl
Thank you for offering to help. I just don't feel comfortable owning a brand new reel a month old , that needs to be taken apart.
I am just going to return it.

Re: Chronarch MGL line pawl
Can you clarify which part are you actually calling the cap ? The metal part with the screwdriver slot or the the plastic barrel that is just underneath that metal part? Or that whole piece. Please let me know. I don't know why I am having these issues. The first one was the drag as I wrote about, t...

Re: Chronarch MGL line pawl
Are we talking about the cap with the slot o fit a screwdriver in ? or the small plastic barrel underneath ?
That I can turn with a finger, but it turns forever doesn't get tight.
Bantam I like Shimano reels but this is the 3rd MGL ,why so many problems with these reels.

Chronarch MGL line pawl
The cap on the pawl of my MGL is loose.
Since it sits under the front bar of the reel I am unable to get in there with a screw driver to make it tight.
Does it matter if its loose.

Re: Lubing a MGL
Hopefully Bantam will have an easy answer to that question, because I take the Sideplate off to access it. The pinion gear goes through that bearing, so you can't get a bearing puller under it to pull it out. Maybe there is an easier way, but I haven't found it. You were correct I just thought ther...

Re: Lubing a MGL
Ok I wasn't aware that there are 2 bearings I thought that the bearing that supports the pinion gear was the one under the spool bearing so if I remove the spool bearing can I remove the bearing that sits below it from that location, or do I have to open the side plate. I don't want to oil it withou...

I guess we are not getting an easy answer, but I know somebody who would definitely know what to do.

Re: Lubing a MGL
Could be like you say.
I just thought that if there is nothing holding that bearing there, it would have been an easy pull out from under the
spool bearing.

Re: Lubing a MGL
So how do I grease it
Can I remove it just like a spool bearing? Or I have to open the reel?

Re: Lubing a MGL
Bantam What about the lubing of the bearing that supports the pinion gear. Last time I looked at it it seemed like it could be lubed by removing the spool bearing , a small washer and then you can see the supporting bearing. Is it good to lube it ? and if yes, with what ? since they don't spin on th...
