Re: Don't be Fooled, Here's the Deal on Shimano's Exsence DC
Nice review. The only characteristic that I noticed is that the reel isn't all that special with lighter weight lures, but excels at 1/2 ounce and up...your mileage may vary. Yeah, I agree with this but I may be biased as I use it for Ikas mostly. I didn't have a problem with 4 inch worms, though. ...

Re: Don't be Fooled, Here's the Deal on Shimano's Exsence DC
The review is silent  on the subject of DC-whining. Is the reel silent too? Nah, it makes the excellent DC whine, if that is what you are asking. The review also points out it has a clicking drag...this is artificial, but awfully fun. Too bad it doesn't happen much when I fish single hook pla...

Re: 2013 Bait-the-Finesse Finale : Daiwa T3 Air
x2. I ended up drop shotting a ton this season and was surprised about how much I preferred doing it on a spinning rod.Johnny A wrote:

Nice review, Cal...and awesome bluegill pics! Those would be a blast on a finesse BC rod.

Re: Does 832 Stand Up to Sudden Impact? It Might Make Your D
The product that scored those high and low numbers was not from Sufix ;) So can you tell us which braid scored the highest? :-k ...or do we have a new article on your site to look forward to 8-) Oh, you know it will be a Daiwa product. [-X Cal already mentioned Samurai Braid in the article, and pro...

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight
I understand Shimano guys are not happy but may I suggest you actually try a T3 Air before saying Shimano is going to win anyway at the end? Now...I didn't say that, to be clear. I would think that the T3 Air could very well cast lighter weights than my Aldebaran. I also think that the Aldebaran do...

Re: latest reel comparison
It's more comfortable in its smoothness for sure. The Core was already small...the form factor is smaller on the palm plate side, not the gear side. So it palms smaller. It's pretty much flat to the rod. It will throw 1/8 very well. It will throw smaller on the right rod but i rarely do...2.5 inch g...

Re: latest reel comparison
It doesn't feel natural to me, particularly when I am switching between rods. You don't have to adjust it much, though. It's cool looking and I assume the purpose is to slim down the overall frame. The frame is very sweet...I have posted side by side pictures with it next to the Core, and it is much...

Which is relevant enough to much of the grading and observations, which were neither changed nor clarified.Bronzeye wrote:You didn't read the end note.
While what I posted in the Review section is light hearted, the net of it is that the review was massively biased.

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight
That's interesting. Does it rotate like a normal cast control knob? Yup it does. It can be a little tricky thou. While I was playing around with the reel at the shop I accidentaly openned up the side plate. Good thing I have a good grip on the reel or else im in trouble. I tried also to move ...

I want a recount ! Geez. We give you people new Scientificalagistic Performance Graphs from the new lab. We're trying to take you unappreciative rednecks into the Modern Age of Impressivity. It ain't our fault that... ...we neglected to turn on the lab's lights when we did the Shimano part of the r...

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight
Funny. My BFS spool weighs 9 grams. As does my other Yumeya spool in my Core. As does japantackle and other websites. Now, I believe a stock Core is around 11 grams. My out of box free spool was much longer than 3 seconds. You also neglected to point out all the disclaimers around the T3 Air and lin...
